Gerry Lester Watson Jr., better known as Bubba Watson , was born in Bagdad, Florida, on 5th November, 1978 to his father Gerry Watson Sr. and mother Molly Marie Watson. As a professional golfer he has secured his victory two times in Masters Tournament in 2012 and 2014. Bubba plays in the LIV Golf in recent times.

Bubba Watson’s Amateur Golf Career

Bubba Watson started playing golf with his father when he was just 6 years old. He has competed in the school golf tournament at Milton High School. He was a self-taught golfer in his early days. During his college time, he played for Faulkner State Community College as a junior college All-American. Before turning pro, Bubba Watson won several golf championships, like Georgia State Amateur Championship (2001), and Southeastern Conference (SEC) in 2000 & 2001, which represents his successful career as an amateur golfer.

Bubba Watson’s Professional Career

In the year 2002, when Bubba was 23 years old, he became a pro at golf after competing for the Bulldogs at the University of Georgia. He tied for 21st with his best finish on the Nationwide Tour's money list, which caused him to qualify as the last player on the PGA Tour for that following year.

Bubba captured his first PGA Tour title by winning the Travellers Championship 2010. He won the 2012 Masters Tournament, which was his first major championship victory. In the year 2015, Bubba Watson reached his peak and occupied the second position in the Official World Golf Ranking.

In the same year, Watson won at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans by defeating Webb Simpson. He participated in the Long Drive Contest and finished in the 2nd position. Bubba Watson won the 2012 Masters Tournament, which was his first major championship victory. But after this win, he started to struggle. In 2014, he held the lead for most of the tournament at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. In August 2022, he resigned from the PGA Tour & joined the LIV Golf in the month of July.
