Luca Crusifino's Wrestling Career
Joe Macek signed with WWE on April 6, 2022, after a Performance Center tryout. He was later given the ring name Luca Crusifino with a lawyer gimmick. Before his debut, he created a website (crusifinolaw.com) to support his character, featuring fictional trials, testimonials, and video evidence tied to NXT storylines. He entered the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament in 2023 but lost to Tavion Heights in the first round. On February 27, 2024, he faced Dijak and lost but attacked him with his crowbar post-match, turning face and helping Joe Gacy ambush Dijak.
On March 5, 2024, at NXT: Roadblock, Tony D’Angelo officially welcomed Crusifino into The D’Angelo Family as their consigliere, confirming his babyface turn. The group later defeated No Quarter Catch Crew in a six-man tag match during Week 1 of NXT Spring Breakin'.
On May 7, 2024, during a tag match involving Dempsey and Borne vs. Dupont and Igwe, Crusifino’s ally Stacks served as a biased special guest referee, costing Dempsey and Borne the match. In response, Dempsey invoked the Catch Clause and gave Tony D’Angelo a shot at the NXT Heritage Cup. That same night, the D’Angelo Family kidnapped Damon Kemp and Myles Borne to nullify the clause.
