Luke Gallows: A Brief Biography
Andrew William Hankinson is an American professional wrestler signed with Impact Wrestling. He is best known for his work with WWE, TNA, and NJPW.
Professional Wrestling Career
WWE (2005-2010)
In 2005, they signed Hankinson with WWE and began working DSW. He worked with DSW for a year and received several name changes. IN 2006, he made his RAW debut as the fake Kane. He defeated the real Kane at Vengeance. However, the storyline was scrapped.
Over the next year, he worked for SmackDown house shows, FCW, and OVW. Later, he formed a tag team with Jessie. Hankinson played a mentally challenged character called Festus and teamed up with Jessie. The team stayed together for almost two years before Jessie left the company.
In 2009, they repackaged him as Luke Gallows. Later, Gallows joined Straight Edge Society with CM Punk. Gallows helped Punk on many occasions and teamed up with him in tag team matches. At SummerSlam, The Big Show defeated SES. By the end of the year, they released him from his contract.
TNA (2011-2013)
After being released from the company, he spent the next few years on the independent circuit. In 2012, he joined TNA as D.O.C. In November, they revealed him as a member of Aces and Eights. Doc spent a year with the stable and wrestled with several notable names such as Kurt Angle, Sting, James Storm, and more. In 2013, he parted ways with the company.
NJPW (2013-2016)
In 2013, Gallows began working for NJPW. Later, he teamed up with Karl Anderson and won the 2013 World Tag League. In 2014, they defeated K.E.S to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. After a year, they lost the titles to Goto and Shibata. They won the titles on three different occasions and spent their time with The Bullet Club. In 2016, Anderson and Gallows left NJPW for WWE.
WWE (2016-2020)
In 2016, they made their debut on RAW and attacked The Usos. After defeating The Usos, they reunited with AJ Styles when Styles attacked John Cena. They were soon named Good Brothers. At Battleground, AJ Styles and Good Brothers lost to John Cena, Enzo Amore, and Big Cass.
At SummerSlam, they faced The New Day and won b disqualification. After the draft, they spent the rest of the year on RAW as a part of the tag team division. At Royal Rumble, Good Brothers defeated The Bar to win the RAW Tag Team Championship.
At WrestleMania 33, Good Brothers lost the titles to The Hardy Boyz. In 2017, they made sporadic appearances on television. In 2018, they returned to the tag team division and feuded with The Revival, Lucha House Party, B-Team, The Usos, The Bludgeon Brothers, and more.
In 2019, they reunited with AJ Styles to form The O.C. Gallows and Anderson defeated The Revival and Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins to win the RAW Tag Team Championship. In September, they lost the titles to Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins. They spent their last few months helping AJ Styles. Gallows and Anderson were last seen in WWE during the main event of WrestleMania 36.
Impact Wrestling, AEW, and NJPW (2020-Present)
After being released during the pandemic, Anderson and Gallows have worked with AEW, Impact, and NJPW. In 2020, they won the Impact Tag Team Championships. In 2021, they teamed up with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega and assisted Omega during his title defenses due to a working relationship crossover deal with Impact Wrestling.
In 2021, they won the Impact Tag Team Championship for the second time. At Sacrifice, they lost the titles to VBD. They were last seen on Impact.
