Robin Haase: A Brief Biography
Robin Haase is a left-handed tennis player who is currently the highest ranking Dutch player in the world. After a very promising junior tennis career, he played in his first ATP tournament in 2006. In September he made his debut for the Dutch Davis Cup team in the World Group Play-offs against the Czech Republic. Later that year, Haase won his first Challenger tournament in Nashville. He won his second challenger and made his Grand Slam debut at the US Open as a lucky loser in 2007. Haase defeated Lleyton Hewitt at the Wimbledon 2008. In 2011, Haase landed his irst ATP title at the Austrian Open Kitzbuhel. The following year Robin Haase helped the Dutch Davis Cup team to a 5–0 victory over Finland in World Group I, playing a singles match and a doubles match partnered with Jean-Julien Rojer. Robin won the tournament in Kitzbuhel for the second year in a row, beating Philipp Kohlschreiber. He competed in the 2012 London Olympics but lost in the first round of both singles and doubles.
