The Usos is a former tag team that mostly wrestled in WWE. It was comprised of twin brothers Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso, who belong to the decorated Anoa'i family which also includes The Rock, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna, their younger brother Solo Sikoa, and their father Rikishi. The team was considered to be one of the best tag teams in the world before they parted ways in 2023.

Early Lives

The real names of Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso are Joshua Samuel Fatu and Jonathan Solofa Fatu respectively. The two were born on August 22, 1985, in San Francisco, California to Talisua Fuavai and Solofa Fatu Jr, whom fans better know by the name Rikishi. Jimmy Uso is the older twin brother by nine minutes. The two were brought up in Florida where they graduated from Escambia High School in Pensacola. Before joining pro wrestling both were quite interested in playing American football and continued playing the sport after graduation. It wasn't until the mid-2000s that either of The Usos made waves in pro-wrestling.

WWE Career of The Usos

Early Career

The brothers started out in FCW in late 2009. They even went on to win the FCW Tag Team Championships during their stint at the developmental territory. The Uso Brothers made their debut on WWE TV on the May 24, 2010, episode of Raw when they attacked then-Tag Team Champions: The Hart Dynasty. Managed by Tamina, the trio made their PPV debut against The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd, DH Smith, and Natalya) at Fatal 4-Way where they lost. The Usos continued to feud with the Hart Dynasty throughout the year but remained unsuccessful in capturing the Tag Team Championships. They were drafted to Smackdown soon after and turned face, feuding with The Core.

The Usos failed to achieve success from 2011-2013 as they could not win the Tag Team Championships even after numerous shots. In order to pay homage to their uncle Umaga and as a tribute to their Samoan culture, the brothers started using face paint from 2013.

Tag Team Championships

On the March 3 episode of Raw, The Usos were finally successful in Capturing their first Tag Team Championships against the Outlaws. The brothers held on to the titles for 202 days before dropping them to Cody Rhodes and Goldust at the Night Of Champions PPV. The Usos won the 2014 Tag Team of the Year Slammy Award. On the December 29 edition of Raw, The Usos won their second tag team Championship by defeating The Miz and Damien Sandow and continued to feud with them and Goldust & Cosy, retaining their Championships on multiple occasions. However, they lost their belts to Tyson Kidd and Cesaro at the Fastlane PPV in late February.

Due to Jey Uso suffering an anterior shoulder dislocation on the left arm in April, the Usos disbanded for a while but returned to action in November. They were paired with Roman Reigns and feuded with the New Day, Dudley Boys and Social Outcasts for brief periods of time.

Move to Smackdown and change in gimmick

On July 19, at the 2016 WWE draft, The Usos were drafted to SmackDown. The Usos turned heel after they viciously attacked American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) soon after the American Alpha defeated them in less than a minute. Although managing to become the #1 Contenders, the Usos were unable to dethrone then Smackdown Tag Champions Rhyno and Slater on multiple occasions.

During December, the duo adopted a new gimmick where they acted like street thugs. In Mid-march The Usos went on to finally defeat the American Alpha for the Smackdown Tag Titles thus becoming the first team to hold both RAW and SmackDown Tag Titles. At Battleground, they lost the tag titles to New Day, ending their 124-day reign and it also began a long-term feud between the two teams which revolutionized the Tag Team Division. On August 20 at the SummerSlam pre-show, The Usos defeated The New Day to recapture the titles, making them the first team to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship twice. They lost the Championships to New Day yet again in an episode of Smackdown when the two teams faced off in a street fight.

In a rematch that took place inside Hell in a Cell, The Usos managed to pick up the win and regain their tag team titles. The Usos turned face yet again when they offered a truce with the New Day after their spectacular HIAC Match. At Survivor Series, they picked up a win against Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus in an interbrand Champion vs Champion match.

The Usos then had a feud with Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin which came to an end after the brothers defeated Gable and Benjamin in a 2-out of-3 falls match at Royal Rumble.

After taking a hiatus, the twins returned to help their onscreen cousin, Roman Reigns. Whilst Reigns was outnumbered by Corbin, Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler; Usos returned and evened the odds.

Roman Reigns returned at the 2020 SummerSlam and attacked Fiend after he won the Universal Championship from Braun Strowman. Reigns immediately captured the Universal title from Fiend at the 2020 Payback event. After Reigns won the title, he helped Jey Uso earn a title shot for his championship. Both of them fought at Clash of Champions and Hell In A Cell. At both instances, Jey lost.

Eventually, Jey had to fall in line to the Tribal Chief. Months later, Jimmy Uso made his return to SmackDown and opposed the idea of Jey being a lackey to the Universal Champion. But after a series of events, Jimmy Uso also joined the force. Since then, the Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman) have been dominating SmackDown.

Then Usos went on to defeat Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The champions went on to defend their championships against New Day, Boogs and Nakamura, the Viking Raiders, and many other top teams. RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro captured it to become the Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

The Usos were challenged by Street Profits for the Undisputed Tag Team Championship, where the champs retained. But due to a botched fall, Profits demanded a rematch at SummerSlam. A guest referee was appointed for this match, who was Jeff Jarrett. This match was too won by the champions, Usos.

Partnership and feud with Sami Zayn

The Usos would go on to defend their tag team titles against numerous opponents thanks to help from Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn, The Honorary Uce of The Bloodline. Zayn had been hanging around The Bloodline for months and tried to do all in his capacity to ensure that The Usos and Roman Reigns hold on to their respective titles. While Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa had no problems with Zayn being around them, Jey hated his sight and wanted him to be as far as possible. The tension between the two, however, came to a halt when Zayn betrayed Kevin Owens at Survivor Series: WarGames.

At Royal Rumble, Reigns defeated Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and assaulted Owens after the match alongside The Usos and Sikoa. The team also asked Zayn to join the party and ordered him to hit Owens with a steel chair. Zayn instead hit Reigns with that chair and was kicked out of the group by Jimmy Uso followed by a vicious attack from Reigns and Sikoa.

Over the next weeks, Jey Uso made his decision and joined his brother after giving a superkick to Zayn. The Usos faced Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the main event of Night One of WrestleMania Hollywood in a hard-hitting contest that saw the challengers take the win. The feud continued and Zayn and Owens were joined by a returning Matt Riddle. The three superstars took on The Usos and Solo Sikoa at WWE Backlash in a Six Man Tag Team Match in a winning effort.

Following the event, Solo Sikoa and Reigns were challenged for the tag team titles at Night of Champions 2023. The Usos interfered and tried to attack Sami Zayn but accidentally super-kicked Solo Sikoa infuriating Roman Reigns. Jimmy Uso lost his temper at this and attacked Reigns leaving The Bloodline. He was officially kicked out of the group by Sikoa and Reigns the following night.

A few weeks later, Jey Uso made his decision and sided with his brother Jimmy. He made his decision known to the world by super-kicking Reigns. Sikoa stayed by Reigns' side. The two teams then collided in a highly entertaining and hard-hitting match at Money in the Bank 2023. In the match that lasted over half-an-hour, it was The Usos who scored the victory, and that too by pinning Roman Reigns.

Jey Uso pinned The Tribal Chief, marking his first pinfall loss since 2019. Following the event, Jey Uso challenged his cousin for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the recognition of Tribal Chief. Both disputes were due to be settled at SummerSlam 2023. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso collided in a first-ever Tribal Combat match to settle their differences. Uso was just one count away from victory when he was taken out of the ring by someone. Jimmy Uso revealed himself behind the mask, betraying his brother and re-joining The Bloodline.

Following the betrayal, Jey Uso got frustrated and left WWE SmackDown.
