Coco Gauff is an American professional tennis player, who was born on March 13, 2004, in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently ranked No. 6 by the WTA, Gauff has won seven singles titles till date, including the 2023 US Open and the 2023 Cincinnati Open. After winning her first major at age 19, Gauff became the first American teenager to win the US Open title since Serena Williams in 1999.


Coco Gauff came into the limelight at the 2019 Wimbledon, when she defeated seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams in straight sets in the first round. She was 15 years and three months old at that time, making her the youngest player to reach the main draw at Wimbledon by qualifying in the Open Era. Gauff's triumph continued in the current season as she won the 2024 ASB Classic and defeated Elina Svitolina in the final. She reached her first major semifinal at the 2024 Australian Open, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka. She finished as a quarterfinalist at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships, where she lost to Anna Kalinskaya.


She is known for playing doubles tournaments and achieved the career-high ranking of World No. 1 with Jessica Pegula after qualifying for the 2023 WTA Finals. She, along with Pegula, won the 2023 Miami Open doubles title, defeated the team of Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend in the final and became the first all-American duo to do so in 22 years. She has won nine doubles titles in her career, five of them came with Pegula.
