Iga Natalia Swiatek is a Polish professional tennis player who was born on May 31, 2001. She is the face of the WTA, and ranked World No. 1 as of August 2024. Iga Swiatek Background and Family History
Iga Swiatek was born to Dorota and Tomasz Swiatek in Warsaw, Poland. Her father used to row and participate in the men's quadruple sculls race at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. She has an orthodontist mother. Agata, her elder sister, is a dentist.
Swiatek's father preferred that his daughters participate in an individual sport rather than a team sport, in order to better control their chances of success. He wanted his daughters to become competitive athletes. Agata initially began as a swimmer but eventually switched to tennis after experiencing difficulties in the water.
