UMass football began on November 22, 1879, as the "Aggies," defeating Amherst College 4–0. They later joined the Athletic League of New England State Colleges, dominating early matchups. He currently serves as the head football coach at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass), a position he first held from 2004 to 2008 and resumed in 2022. He graduated from Norwich University in 1977 and earned a master's degree from Plymouth State University in 1996.
