UEFA Nations League
The UEFA Nations League is a biennial international football competition orchestrated by UEFA, the sport's European governing body. The contestants of the league mainly includes senior men's national team from Europe. The league was first started in 2018, just after the world cup and it came to an end in 2019 at Portugal.
The inaugural season saw Portugal take on Netherlands in the finals and it was Cristiano Ronaldo's team that won the 1st edition of the UEFA Nations League. The main objective of this competition was to replace the the international friendlies that were previously part of the FIFA International match calendar. As a result of the inclusion of the UEFA Nations League, fans have been given a chance to watch their favorite European teams battle each other every two years.
After the inaugural edition of the UEFA Nations League, the 2nd edition took place in Italy between 2020-21. This time around, World champions France won the competition by defeating former World Cup champions Spain 2-1 in the finals.
