Scheffler won the 2022 Masters Tournament, defeating Rory McIlroy by a margin of three strokes. This win went down in history, as he became the second golfer ever to win four events, including the Masters, in the beginning of the season. Scottie Scheffler won the 2023 Players Championship, defeating Tyrell Hatton by five shots. This was his second win of the season. The next season, he became the first-ever back-to-back winner of the Players Championship in March 2024. In the last round, Scheffler overcame a five-shot deficit with an 8-under 64, tying the biggest comeback by a Players Championship victor at TPC Sawgrass. He defeated Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, and Xander Schauffele by a margin of a single stroke, with a score of 268, under 20.
