Scott "Scottie" Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, on June 21, 1996. Turned professional in 2018, joined the PGA Tour in 2020 and won his first PGA Tour win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open against Patrick Cantlay in a playoff, which he successfully defended in the next season against Nick Taylor by two strokes. He also won the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, defeating Kevin Kisner.

Only the 2022 WGC and 2024 RBC Heritage are the only two of Scheffler's ten PGA Tour wins that he has won once, with the rest coming twice: the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2022 and 2024, the Masters Tournament in 2022 and 2024, the WM Phoenix Open in 2022 and 2023, and the Players Championship in 2023 and 2024. As of April 2025, he is the world No. 1 golfer and has been in the same position for more than 130 weeks (not a consecutive run).

Scottie Scheffler’s Masters Tournament Wins

Scheffler won the 2022 Masters Tournament, defeating Rory McIlroy by a margin of three strokes. This win went down in history, as he became the second golfer ever to win four events, including the Masters, in the beginning of the season. In a similar context, he is the fourth golfer to have won four events after Arnold Palmer. Further, he also became the fifth golfer to appear at the Masters as the world No. 1 and eventually won it, the first after Dustin Johnson in 2020.

In 2024, Scheffler won his second Masters Tournament over Ludvig Aberg by four strokes. At the time, he was 27 years old, making him the fourth-youngest golfer to win multiple Masters and the third golfer to win multiple Masters and the Players Championships, too.

Scottie Scheffler’s PGA Championship Wins

Scottie Scheffler hasn't won a PGA Championship yet, but he came close in the 2023 PGA Championship when he finished tied for second place with Viktor Hovland against Brooks Koepka. Koepka won by a margin of two shots over both of them.

Scottie Scheffler’s U.S. Open Wins

Scottie Scheffler has yet to win a U.S. Open, but his best performance was tied for second place with Will Zalatoris, being defeated by Matt Fitzpatrick by a margin of one shot in the 2022 U.S. Open.

Scottie Scheffler’s Open Championship Wins

Scottie Scheffler hasn't won an Open Championship yet; however, his best finish was in the 2024 season, when he finished tied for seventh place with Jon Rahm and Sung Jae Im.

Scottie Scheffler’s Players Championship Wins

Scottie Scheffler won the 2023 Players Championship, defeating Tyrell Hatton by five shots. This was his second win of the season. The next season, he became the first-ever back-to-back winner of the Players Championship in March 2024. In the last round, Scheffler overcame a five-shot deficit with an 8-under 64, tying the biggest comeback by a Players Championship victor at TPC Sawgrass. He defeated Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, and Xander Schauffele by a margin of a single stroke, with a score of 268, under 20.

Scottie Scheffler’s FedEx Cup Wins

Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup, defeating Collin Morikawa by three strokes, while Sahith Theegala finished in solo third. He won with a huge margin of 30 under. However, it was technically scored 20 under because he began the event at 10 under due to the Tour Championship's Gundersen scoring method, which requires the leader with the most FedEx points to start at 10 under.

Scheffler won the winner's share of $25 million and became the second golfer after Tiger Woods to win seven events in a single season. Woods did so in 2007.
