It was a clinical performance from the Perth Scorchers in their last league match! Mitchell Marsh was the star with the bat, piling on the misery for the Brisbane Heat. He creamed fours & sixes for fun and did not let the Heat bowling settle into any rhythm whatsoever.
Earlier, it was the spin bowling of the Scorchers that was too good for the Brisbane batters as leg-spinner Peter Hatzoglou and left-arm spinner Ashton Agar combined to take 3 wickets, giving away only 43 runs in their 8 overs.
The Brisbane Heat had one good batting performance to show for. Max Bryant was the top scorer for the side in the bottom half of the table, scoring a solid 81 off only 56 balls. On the bowling front, Mitchell Swepson returned with figures of 2 for 19 in his 4 overs, with some good wrist-spin bowling.
Overall, it has been a dominant campaign so far for the Perth Scorchers as they look forward to the play-offs. As for the Brisbane Heat, they have only one match to go to try and salvage a win and end their campaign on a high.

Player of the Match - Mitchell Marsh: Wonderful to be batting the way I'm, great to contribute to the win. I hope to continue in this merry way & have some more fun. Don't know where we're going to play next but wherever it may be, I'll try my best to contribute with both bat & ball.
Brilliant win for the Perth Scorchers! A professional performance this! Superb! They beat the Brisbane Heat by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare!
18.4 Mark Steketee to Aaron Hardie, SIX! HARDIE FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE! Short of a length delivery on the line of the middle and the off stump, Hardie gets in the line of that delivery and hooks that one a long way over the ropes for a maximum. Perth Scorchers win by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare and end their league stage at the first position with 11 wins
18.3 Mark Steketee to Ashton Turner, length delivery on the leg and the middle stump. Turner taps that one away towards square leg for a single
18.2 Mark Steketee to Ashton Turner, length delivery outside the off stump. Turner has a play and a miss on that occasion. No run
18.1 Mark Steketee to Ashton Turner, full-length delivery going down the legside. Turner taps that one away towards deep backward square leg for a brace
Aaron Hardie, RHB, is at the crease.
Mark Steketee [3.0-0-30-0] is back to bowl.
Now this is a match for the Scorchers to lose! They've been superb up until this point but the wicket of Munro doesn't help the team on top of the ladder!
