Jason Behrendorff: A Brief Biography
Jason Paul Behrendorff is an Australian-born cricketer who plays for the Australian Cricket Team. He is a fast bowler and also plays for Western Australia at the domestic level. In the BBL, Behrendorff Plays for Perth Scorchers, while in the Indian Premier League, he represents the Mumbai Indians.
His tall stature of nearly six and a half feet makes him extremely dangerous and difficult to face, but thanks to the likes of the already crowded pace battery in the Australian national setup, Behrendorff has been used as a backup pacer within their national team.

Behrendorff was called up to represent Australia A against South Africa A in late 2014. The left-arm pacer also owns the fifth-best figures by a bowler in an innings in the Sheffield Shield tournament history. He returned with figures of 9/37 against Victoria in Perth on February 25, 2017.
In the BBL, he made his debut for the Perth Scorchers in the 2012-13 season and was an integral part of the team when it won two consecutive titles in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
Jason Behrendorff IPL Career
Jason Behrendorff was bought by the Mumbai Indians at the 2018 IPL auction for INR 1.50 crores, but could not represent the defending champions due to a back injury. He was retained by MI in the IPL 2019 auction and made his debut against the Chennai Super Kings, picking up two wickets in his maiden outing.
Behrendorff was released by MI ahead of the IPL 2020 auction and was later signed as a replacement by the Chennai Super Kings for Josh Hazlewood in the first half of IPL 2021. He was snaffled up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) for his base price of INR 75 lakhs which was considered quite a steal, but warmed the bench the whole season. Jason Behrendorff was listed in the 15-man squad for Australia for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. His inclusion over Josh Hazlewood came as a surprise to many, but his form and performances in the ODIs against Pakistan surely made him a better bet than Hazlewood who was struggling with injuries. His dream of representing Australia at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was short-lived, as he was injured and ruled out of IPL 2024, where he could have potentially showcased his skillset to push his case for the national selectors.
