Wanindu Hasaranga, captain of Kandy Falcons: Very happy with the performance of the boys. Everyone is taking responsibility and stepping up to the plate. It is a good headache to have (to see every newcomer do well) and hopefully, we will carry this momentum forward.

Dasun Shanaka, captain of Dambulla: It was very embarrassing. We are making mistakes every game. We have to do well in all three departments to win. We are all established players and we need to take more responsibility. Nothing seems to be going our way. The bowlers are not bowling well and the batters are not taking up enough responsibility.

Kamindu Mendis, Player of the Match: Happy with the performance. The openers built a good partnership and when I went in, I just had to rotate the strike. I had a good partnership with Fletcher and he played exceedingly well. Did not have any set plan and took each ball as it came.

Carlos Brathwaite: It was a good wicket and thankfully everything came out well. I am happy with my own performance as well as the team's. I especially liked picking Shanaka's wicket, and am glad that Andre (Fletcher) is behind the stumps and doing well too. Hopefully, we can patch him up soon and get him back on the field. We are pleased and will take this momentum forward.

This ended up being a rather one-sided affair for the side from Kandy here. Dambulla got off to a good start but they capsized soon after. Their openers did their best but they were snapped up by Chamika Karunaratne in a single over. Carlos Brathwaite, having got off to a poor start, got into the act soon afterwards and bagged three wickets in no time.

The Aura batters did not do themselves any favours by their choice of shotmaking, and none of their batters save Chaturanga de Silva and Bhanuka Rajapaksa showed any responsibility or intent to take their side to victory by chasing the total down. The bowlers of Kandy had too easy a time out in the middle and complemented their batters by putting up an extremely strong and power-packed performance.

They will take a lot of confidence from this result, and this comes at the right time, with them having lost to Jaffna Kings by a close margin yesterday. The Falcons are absolutely flying at the moment, and they will surely be a hard team to beat in the ongoing edition of the Lanka Premier League.

14.2 Fabian Allen to Noor Ahmad, OUT! All over. Kandy have thrashed a hapless Dambulla outfit by 77 runs. The final wicket is an LBW which is reviewed by Noor but it's a waste. He misses the reverse to a quicker ball on the stumps and that's plumb. He reviews as he had one up his sleeve
