England deliver a knockout blow to their neighbors Scotland and in doing so move to the top of the points table in Group B. For Scotland, it has been a disastrous campaign but they can be proud of themselves for making it till here for the first time. It is time for us (Sourabh and Maanas) to scoot off but don't forget we have got the blockbuster clash coming up between India Women and Australia Women at 7:30 PM tonight where the Indian girls need to go past the mighty Aussies to give themselves a shot at the semis. You can follow all that over here, it is a goodbye from us.
Heather Knight (England Women captain): Really pleased, the pitch has gotten better even though 3 games have been played on it. The outfield has been trimmed too. I thought we let them score a few too many but then not really the pitch was really good. Then real class from those two (the openers). Bouchier was a little disappointed in the last one, she did not bat the way she wanted but today right from when she hit the first three balls for boundaries she went on from there. We had a really good powerplay and then finished it off from there. We talked about getting over South Africa (about the NRR), finishing it in the 10 overs. We thought of getting Bell into the competition today, not that Smith has done anything wrong, we have got so many options. Sophie was brilliant again as well. We will just look for the win (against West Indies) and approach it like we have done the last couple of games. Just want to keep the momentum going.
Kathryn Bryce (Scotland Women captain): It has been a pretty tough tournament for us but a massive honor to be here and lead the team at this stage. Only learnings to take from here, we need to stick to the basics and that is the biggest learning. They (the supporters) have been brilliant and have ben cheering for us. She (Jack-Brown) has been playing cricket for Scotland for the last 18 years, it was great to go down and have a meal with her. She has been a large part of the Scotland journey, really special career.
Maia Bouchier (Player of the Match): I felt really good. Batting with Dani is very good, we have an unspoken communication between us. We both thought to stick to our plans and play down the ground. Yeah I got we told about the NRR in the eighth over. It is fine lines and fine margins. We played so well and the bowlers did very well to keep them down. Of course we want to take the trophy. We want to think of the present and not about the other teams. We keep up with the scores but we are in the present. It was really important for me to try and be still. That's what I do best and Dani kept reminding me too. Need to back myself to win us games.

England Women win by 10 wickets and move to the top of the points table
Maia Bouchier 62*(34) | Sophie Ecclestone 2/13 (4) Kathryn Bryce 33(28) | Darcey Carter 0/11 (0)
A statement win from the England Women and they have absolutely decimated their Scottish counterparts in a 10-wicket victory with half of the innings to spare, 60 balls, indeed. It was almost as if there was a much superior team that came up against a minnow wanting to teach them a lesson.
Right from the moment the chase started with Bouchier hitting Slater for three consecutive boundaries off the first three balls, everyone knew what was coming up. Scotland helped the English opening pair by offering up some loose deliveries and made the job easier for them.
None of the bowlers were able to control the damage and both Bouchier and Wyatt-Hodge made merry while the sun shone in Sharjah. Bouchier got to her fifty in 30 balls in the 8th over and her partner Wyatt-Hodge did towards the fag end bettering Bouchier with a 26-ball fifty as England stormed home.
What this win has done for England is that it has taken them to the top of the points table with a net run-rate superior to any other team in their group and they have given themselves a great shot at making the semis with this win.

9.5 Kathryn Bryce to Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, full and outside off, Dani punches it into the covers and there confusion in the middle!
