So, that will be all from this, the second match of the day at the Santarem Cricket Ground. But do switch tabs and join us for the third game starting in about 15 minutes from now. This is the pair of Sourabh and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Fighters CC win by 6 wickets with 11 balls to spare!
Till five overs in the innings, it was very much neck-and-neck but by and large, it was Lisbon Werewolves who were in charge. Come the next three overs and one ball, and everything changed!
The sixth over went for 16 runs, the seventh over went for 20 runs and the 8th went for 23! The first ball of the 9th vanished for a maximum and that was that! Fighters CC ended up making light work of the chase which looked pretty difficult at one stage.
Parminder Singh and Parwinder Singh teamed up to score 64 runs for the 4th wicket in only 25 balls to seal the deal for their team! The balls just flew to one part of the ground or the other with no stopping! Parminder did get out, but by then it was too late!
So, this victory gives the Fighters much needed boost when it comes to qualifying as the third team from Group B. The Werewolves suddenly, are on the back foot on that regard!
8.1 Muhammad Tabish to Parwinder Singh, SIX MORE AND FIGHTERS CC WIN, this one is in the slot and Parwinder dispatches it over the ropes on the leg side and gets his team to victory
Muhammad Tabish, right-arm medium, is into the attack.
Well, this is just a formality now! The blitzkrieg of the last 3 overs has handed Fighters CC the best possible chance of winning this match, and how!
