That's it from here, hope you enjoyed the coverage. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Arya signing off
Dinesh Karthik (Southern Super Stars Captain) -. It's all about understanding what areas you need to target and Gandhi played well. Dunk and Nurse attacked our bowlers. They haven't bowled on a consistent basis, so it's understandable things get rusty at times. I heard the players take this league seriously and it's a very competitive. We have seen a lot of matches are going down to the wire
Chirag Gandhi (Legend of the Match) - It was a pleasure to be part of this league. I am so happy to get opportunities to play with this legends. Everyone is helping with their suggestions and game plan. We didn't want to get out in Iqbal's over and that allowed us to target the other bowlers
Ben Dunk (Game Changer of the Match) - We have been looked after here really well. Food has been nice. We got off to a competitive total but unfortunately, it's not enough. We had a good time so far but things didn't go well tonight
Ian Bell (Indian Capitals captain) - We were happy at the halfway mark. Things do change quickly but we want to get those guys in and maximise it. Few areas we need to improve. We set the standards high and we had a good game of Cricket. We wanted to go left-right throughout. We wanted to analyse things in detail and planned accordingly. It's great to be back in India and the competition is fantastic
Southern Super Stars won by 4 wickets
What a run chase! When Pawan Negi was dismissed and Chaturanga de Silva followed him instantly, only a few would've given the Super Stars a chance to reign supreme but Gandhi and Karia fought against all odds, clawed the team back into the contest and helped them crossed the finish line!
Ian Bell looks disappointed at the end but credit to Gandhi and Karia for showing good fighting spirit until the end. It looked like Dunk and Nurse's partnership would be match-defining in the end but Gandhi and Karia put on a stellar show to overshadow that. The chase started off in a flying fashion but the pacers pulled things back for the Capitals and put the batters on the back foot in the powerplay
Guptill struggled to score boundaries at will and there wasn't any significant contribution from the top-order. Negi played some big shots and was fighting like a lone-warrior, while Dinesh Karthik didn't provide him any support and it looked the target was out of reach when the southpaw got out. The Indian Capitals looked in cruise control when Chaturanga de Silva fell for a duck. Then Gandhi and Karia started slowly but Colin de Grandhomme's over injected the spark needed and the duo went like a steep-train to get the job done eventually
19.2 Pawan Suyal to Chirag Gandhi, FIVE WIDES! The Southern Superstars have clinched victory here. A full one sliding down leg, Gandhi doesn't get a bat on it but he doesn't need to, the keeper couldn't quite get to that and it races away to the long leg fence. What a win for the Superstars.
19.1 Pawan Suyal to Jesal Karia, Karia backs away and carves away the back of a length delivery over the cover region, down towards the sweeper cover and settles for a single. 3 required off 5.
Bell turned to his best bowler Awana can't deliver in the penultimate over. One hit away for the Super Stars to get a stunning win
