Match abandoned! Unfortunately, rain has the final say which means that both the sides share a point each. By virtue of the point, Pretoria Capitals move to 4th position in the table while Jo'Burg Super Kings remain at the bottom of the table. A mouth-watering encouner awaits us tomorrow as the Durban Super Giants take on the Paarl Royals in Durban. Do join us for that as this is the duo of Sourabh Agrawal and Arya Sekhar Chakraborty taking your leave. Good night!
11:35 PM IST, 08:05 PM local time: The umpires had a long chat with the groundsmen and yes the match has been called off. The outfield was absolutely soaked and it was on the cards after the downpour.
11:30 PM IST, 08:00 PM local time: The umpires are out for an inspection. The rain seems to have subsided but the outfield is water logged and we await the official confirmation. By the reaction of the umpires, we might be heading towards an abandonment.
10:35 PM IST, 07:05 PM Local: Even if the rain stops now it will require a mammoth effort from the groundsmen to make the conditions fit for play. The outfield is full of puddles and chances of any play are looking very bleak. We will keep you posted!
10:00 PM IST, 06:30 PM Local: It's absolutely pelting down in Centurion. However good might be the drainage here, I will be very surprised if this match goes beyond this point. AB de Villiers was on air and the background was absolutely white and live visuals are enough to indicate, it's a swimming pool out there in Centurion. We will keep you updated.
It has been a even start here at Centurion so far. The Capitals have got a couple of early wickets so far but the JSK are moving at a good pace and they have their skipper Faf out in the middle.
Uh-oh! We have rain falling all off a sudden and the players are off the ground. Let's hope this is a passing shower and the play resumes quickly.
4.4 Eathan Bosch to Sibonelo Makhanya, SIX! This is a stunning effort at the deep. This will go down as one of the very best outfield catches you will ever see. Quite incredible. I am literally lost for words. How to describe a catch of this sorts? That was a short of a length delivery from Bosch and Makhanya got a toppish edge which carried almost all the way to the backward square leg fence. Colin Ingram took the catch one handed and then parried it up in the air realising the momentum would take him over. The third umpire will check, wait what? It has been given not out. The back foot might have been just touching the boundary cushions. It has been signalled a six.
4.3 Eathan Bosch to Sibonelo Makhanya, on a good-length a shade outside off, shapes away and beats Makhanya.
4.2 Eathan Bosch to Leus du Plooy, WICKET! That was a quickish back of a length delivery a shade outside off, zips off the surface and hurries du Plooy. Off the inside edge and onto the stumps. That might look like a lucky wicket but it was the extra bit of bounce which did him on this occasion.
Leus Du Ploy b Eathan Bosch 0 (4b, 0x4, 0x6).
4.1 Eathan Bosch to Leus du Plooy, back of a length delivery a shade outside off, punched away towars the cover region.
