Match drawn as Saurashtra are bowled out for 462 in the 1st innings; Services pocket three points while Saurashtra bag one.
Despite Cheteshwar Pujara's valiant 91 and fine efforts from Arpit Vasavada (71) and Chirag Jani (48), Saurashtra couldn't avoid being bowled out as Services pocketed three points on a healthy first innings lead. The Saurashtra essay stretched into the very last hour of the day and despite their best attempts to try and overhaul Services' score, they fell short with Pujara, who retired hurt owing to back spasms on Day 3, powering along to 91 off just 133 deliveries. The defending champions could muster a lone point and are now fifth on the table in Group A.
Stumps on Day 3 - Saurashtra 154/2, trail Services by 382 runs in the 1st innings.
Services finally brought the shutters down on their marathon batting essay on 536/7, with Lovekesh Bansal scoring 161 and Arjun Sharma (101) registering a ton of his own. Saurashtra's response was steady although Cheteshwar Pujara retiring hurt with back spams threw a spanner into their works. Kevin Jivrajani (52) led the visitors' confident start and the onus is now on Vishvaraj Jadeja (53*) and Sheldon Jackson (16*) to carry the innings forward. Bazball, anyone?
Stumps on Day 2 - Services 466/6 in the 1st innings.
Another long day is what transpired for defending champions Saurashtra as Services continued to keep them at bay at the Palam Air Force Grounds. Shubham Rohilla was dismissed for 153 but Lovekesh Bansal batted throughout the day to remain unbeaten on 140. Giving him company is Arjun Sharma, who has faced 203 deliveries to score 53 as the Saurashtra attack was worn out in entirety. Given the situation of the game, Saurashtra now have to bat out of their skins to pocket a first innings lead - after the Services vigil finally comes to an end of course!
Stumps on Day 1 - Services 279/4 in the 1st innings.
A sparkling unbeaten 143 by opener Shubham Rohilla has put Services on top against defending champions Saurashtra at the Palam Air Force Grounds in Delhi.
