Jaydev Unadkat Domestic Career
In India, Unadkat represents Saurashtra. He has participated in the Indian Premier League for several different teams. He was one of the most expensive Indian players when he was chosen by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013. He was named Player of the Match in May 2013 after recording his best T20 career bowling stats of 5/25 against the Delhi Daredevils.
He was included in the India Blue squad for the 2018–19 Duleep Trophy in July 2018 and the India B team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018.
He became the second bowler from Saurashtra to reach 200 wickets in the Ranji Trophy in January 2019, and in August of the same year, he was included in the India Red team's squad for the 2019–20 cricket season.

During the Ranji Trophy 2019–20, Unadkat was in scorching form for his home side Saurashtra. He took 67 wickets and guided the squad to win the prestigious trophy for the first time ever.
Jaydev Unadkat IPL Career
In 2010, Jaydev Unadkat gained an enigmatic IPL contract with the KKR franchise after making an impression on the renowned Wasim Akram, who was then the franchise's bowling coach. Despite playing in only three games that season, Unadkat demonstrated his abilities and demeanour by outlasting the Rajasthan Royals 3-26 and dismissing players like Yusuf Pathan.
After he made his Test debut the same year, his worth shot up to INR 1.1 Crores in the 2011 mega-auction, prompting KKR to reclaim his services for the same amount.
Earlier, Delhi had picked him for the 2014 IPL auction. In February 2016, Kolkata Knight Riders placed the winning offer in the auction, spending INR 1.6 crores to get Unadkat, a huge sum of money for a rookie. Following a lacklustre time with Kolkata Knight Riders, he participated in the 2013 Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he achieved a career-best 5/25 against the Delhi Daredevils. However, he had a turn of fortune after joining the Rising Pune Supergiants, and 2017 proved to be a successful year for him. After taking 24 wickets in that season, he was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 11.5 crores the following year, making him the highest-ever IPL 2018 buy.
When he played for the Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, he eventually turned things around. One of the main reasons the Supergiant was able to advance to the finals was the left-arm seamer, who took wickets in both the power plays and the death overs of the match. During that season, Unadkat not only managed a triple-wicket maiden in the 20th over (against SRH) but also earned his second five-wicket haul (his initial five-for came for RCB against Delhi in 2013).
Unadkat was, predictably, the most sought-after property during the 2018 auction. Major bidding wars were fought for it, with RR ultimately winning for INR 11.5 crores, with teams including the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals involved.
However, Jaydev failed to handle the pressure that came with the high price tag, and his subsequent seasons saw a sharp decline in his performance. He only took 11 wickets throughout the 2018 campaign. His results plummeted even worse in 2019 and 2020. Following another dismal performance in 2021, the Royals released ahead of the mega-auction in 2022, where the Mumbai Indians purchased him for INR 1.3 Crores.
In his five appearances for MI in the IPL 2022, Unadkat took six wickets at a run rate of 9.50. The Lucknow Supergiants grabbed his services for INR 50 Lakhs in the 2023 mini-auction after the Mumbai Indians released him. He played only 3 matches in that season and concluded his season without a single wicket. The Sunrisers Hyderabad roped in the left-arm pacer for INR 1.6 crores ahead of IPL 2024.
Unadkat played 11 matches for the runner up team of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 season. He had a decent outing for his new team as he racked up 8 wickets with an economy of 10.24 while recording his best figures of 3/30 in the season.

He was chosen for India's July 2013 tour of Zimbabwe owing to his steady performances, and he made his ODI debut there. He took eight wickets in five matches throughout the tour, which turned out to be successful. In the forthcoming home season, he played two more One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against the West Indies and Australia, while he ended up wicketless in both.
