That is all we have from this encounter. Switch tabs to follow an exciting Ashes game which is currently underway but from here, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) biding adieu also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Pradeep. Cheers!
Shahrukh Khan is the Player of the Match!
Jhatavedh Subramanyan: We're just following the process, we just kept it simple and following it on the field. We're enjoying each other's success, when our team mates does well, we all celebrate. The probability to qualify in the top two was there, but the intensity was always there and the results to see in the end.
Lyca Kovai Kings won by 44 runs
Siechem Madurai Panthers 164 all-out in 18 overs
Suresh Lokeshwar 41(27) | Hari Nishanth 33(21)
It turned out to a relatively straightforward victory for the Lyca Kovai Kings as their bowlers came out all guns blazing and bowled out the Madurai Panthers for 164 inside the 18th over to secure an emphatic 44-run victory. Despite a great start and some positive hitting in the powerplay, the Panthers kept losing wickets at regular intervals and in the end, it was a mountain too steep to climb for them.
Washington Sundar came out with a positive frame of mind and smashed three delectable boundaries in the first over itself to keep them in the game. Suresh Lokeshwar also struck some delightful shots up front but Sundar departed soon to leave them at 32/1 at the end of the 3rd over. Hari Nishaanth and Lokeshwar stitched together a brilliant stand of 41 runs in a very quick time to keep them interested.
However, two quick wickets again put them on the back foot. Lokeshwar could only muster 41 off 27 deliveries while Nishant chopped in with 33 off 21 deliveries. There were some useful contributions towards the latter half of the innings but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals which didn't really give them the chance to shoot down at the target.
Manimaran Siddharth was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 3 while Shahrukh Khan also chipped in with a couple. Yudheeshwaran finished off the match eventually with two more wickets as the Panthers were bowled out with a couple of overs still remaining.

17.6 Valliappan Yudheeswaran to Ajay Krishna, OUT! ALL OVER! Panthers go down fighting but they have a game to go still and expect Super Gillies to lose the next contest if they are to stay in contention of qualification. What a clinical performance from the Kings this, they confirm their top spot on the points table. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Krishna slashes it straight to point and taken.
17.5 Valliappan Yudheeswaran to Gurjapneet Singh, back of a length on the fourth stump, Gurjapneet dabs it down to third-man for one.
17.4 Valliappan Yudheeswaran to Gurjapneet Singh, FOUR! Length delivery but strays down the leg-side. Gurjapneet clipped it and helps it down to fine-leg and finds the ropes.
17.3 Valliappan Yudheeswaran to Gurjapneet Singh, length delivery outside the off-stump, Gurjapneet leans to drive but gets beaten.
17.2 Valliappan Yudheeswaran to Gurjapneet Singh, yorker length on the fourth stump, Gurjapneet looks to dig it out but misses, through to the keeper
