Match summary:
Bangla Tigers win by 27 runs
Dasun Shanaka 34(15) | Haider Ali 2/17 (2) Charith Asalanka 55(26) | Mohammad Nabi 3/15 (2)
They might not have usurped the Delhi Bulls in terms of Net Run Rate, but the Bangla Tigers give themselves a chance at making it to the playoffs with this win. The Bulls will now need to win to make it to the playoffs. It has been a spirited performance from the Tigers - they set out to defend 82 rather than the actual total of 126, and have done a commendable job at it.
Charith Asalanka was the only one who put up a fight for The Chennai Braves. The Sri Lankan left-hander kept at it as wickets tumbled at the other end - bringing up a well-deserved half-century while at it. The Braves never really looked in contention to get over the line, owing to the fact that they lost too many wickets. Their top-order woes stayed on till their last game as they lost 2 wickets for 10 in the first three overs itself.
The Tigers spinners made all the difference with their changes in pace more often. Both Mustafa and Haider Ali were deceptive with their speeds, firing the occasional yorker and claiming their wickets in the process. Those two, along with Gabriel in the middle overs, killed the run-chase off before the chase went towards the latter stages.
