Another comprehensive win for the Trinbago Knight Riders as they jump to the top of the points table with 11 points in 8 games. After an impressive showing with the ball, the batters on the back of Pooran and Guptill made light work of the target. TKR has another game tomorrow and they would be hoping to continue the good work. Meanwhile lots of cricketing action lined up for the remainder of the day and none bigger than the India vs Pakistan clash. Do join us then for another epic contest but for now this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) biding you goodbye. Cheers!
Kieron Pollard (Trinbago Knight Riders captain): Just the way the guys went about the business. Our bowlers, especially the spinners were fantastic. We would have taken 154 any day so well done to the bowler. It was a sort of a gamble. The ball was a bit wet and the batters wanted pace. The disappointing part is that despite bowling the spinners we were short of the over target. After bowling 14 spin overs, it was quite surprising to see that we still got penalized. I am not complaining but then I have to try bowling all 20 overs from the spinners and see if we can finish it on time.
Brandon King (Jamaica Tallawahs captain): Disappointed with the performance. We were 30 or 20 runs short. We didn't allow the opposition to be under pressure. Our main batters in the team have to start scoring runs. I am the main batter of the team and have to score runs. That was part of it. I didn't try to introduce Imad when Nicky P was going all guns blazing. We have to come out with intent and perform better in the next game.
Sunil Narine (Player of the Match): I think the way we started. The spinners bowled brilliantly in the powerplay which allowed the other bowlers to take it easy. Happy that I could contribute to the team's win. The bowlers did a terrific job and the batters took charge. The crowd really supported us. We have one more game in Trinidad and hopefully, we can finish on a high.
Trinbago Knight Riders won by 7 wickets (with 16 deliveries to spare)
Nicholas Pooran 54(35) | Ali Khan 3/27(3) Imad Wasim 62(33) & 2/28(3)
Another dominating performance from the Trinbago Knight Riders as they brushed aside the Jamaica Tallawahs by 7 wickets and with 6 deliveries to spare. While Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell were severe on the opposition bowlers, it was Martin Guptill who anchored the innings to perfection and ended up remaining unbeaten on 53 off 45 deliveries.
It was Sunil Narine who was sent to open the innings with Guptill. The southpaw had clear plans and smashed a couple of fours and a six during his brief stay. It was turning out to be a good powerplay for the Knight Riders but Chris Green had other ideas. He bagged the crucial wicket of Narine but that didn't deter the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Martin Guptill.
Nicky P again produced a masterclass, going on to score a well-deserved half-century. His knock of 54 came in 35 deliveries which included 6 fours and a couple of sixes. It was sheer carnage when he was in the crease. It looked like he was going to finish it quickly for TKR but Imad Wasim had other ideas. He bagged the crucial wicket before dismissing Kieron Pollard.
However, that dismissal should boil down to an extraordinary catch taken by Fabian Allen. Andre Russell was sent in early and he didn't take any time to finish it off. He smashed three sixes off Imad Wasim's final over which all but sealed the deal for the Knight Riders.
17.2 Imad Wasim to Martin Guptill, what a high-powered muscular victory for the Trinbago Knight Riders. Guptill nudges away the slower good-length delivery around the middle stump with soft hands towards the mid-on region and completes a comfortable victory for TKR.
17.1 Kelvin Pitman to Martin Guptill, on a length around the pads of Guptill, turned away towards the square leg region, in the gap and Guptill has enough time to come back for a brace. Just 1 more needed now.
Kelvin Pitman [1-0-14-0] is back into the attack.

16.6 Imad Wasim to Andre Russell, that was quicker on a length a shade outside off, Russell tries to power this down the ground but doesn't make any contact. Just 3 more runs needed to win.
