Well, with that the series is done and dusted. Bangladesh came in here for a much needed preparation for the World Cup. But, things just didn't go their way and they had a couple of shocking defeats in the series, but this win will be a morale booster for them. USA on the other hand, will look to stay consistent as they did in the series and keep putting up performances in the World Cup and impress everyone.
Aaron Jones (United States of America captain): We had a bad game today, we didn't assess the conditions as well as we would've wanted, but kudos to Bangladesh for winning the game. Shot selection was the main reason, didn't come off well and played poor shots. Definitely important, still trying to get the right combination going into the World Cup. We're confident, we have a strong team and mentally as well. We want to play best cricket in the World Cup.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh captain): The boys showed a lot of character today. Whatever we planned before the match, everyone executed it. It's very disappointing for us to lose the series. We didn't play very well to be very honest but we've finished on a high. It helps ahead of the World Cup. We've got an idea of the conditions. Going into the World Cup with this experience will help us.
Mustafizur Rahman (Player of the Match and Player of the Series): Very happy with the way I bowled. I tried to use my variations and mixed it up. Feeling good (ahead of the World Cup).
Time for the presentation!
Bangladesh won the game by 10 wickets!
Bangladesh finish on 108-0 after 11.4 overs!
Soumya Sarkar 43(28)* | Tanzid Hasan 58(42)*
Statement win from Bangladesh, but came in late, that's about it. Also, USA were missing some of their key players today and that aided to a below par batting and bowling performance from the hosts.
Bangladesh tightened the screws with the ball, never allowed USA to get away with the bat. Mustafizur Rahman turned up for them with six wickets to his name and restricts USA to just 104 on the board.
Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Hasan left no stone unturned, kept playing their strokes and kept finding boundaries with ease. USA never threatened to strike at any moment, barring that Jasdeep's first over where there were half chances but other than that, Bangladesh openers dominated the run chase and cruised to the target in just 11.4 overs.
With the series done and dusted, Bangladesh will look back at how things went for them. But for USA, they'll be buoyed by the fact that, they won the series against a full member side and they are looking to take down some giant teams in the World Cup. Stay tuned for the presentation, coming up shortly!
11.4 Nisarg Patel to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR! THUMPING TEN WICKET WIN FOR BANGLADESH! Bangladesh with a consolation win, but USA take the series 2-1. Full outside the off-stump, Soumya reaches and thrashes it straight to extra-cover but the fielder let's it through to the ropes.
11.3 Nisarg Patel to Tanzid Hasan, length delivery outside the off-stump. Tanzid leans and eases it through covers for one more.
11.2 Nisarg Patel to Soumya Sarkar, too full outside the off-stump. Soumya drilled it down the ground to long-off for one.
