Dana White is a leading combat sports businessman, promoter, and incumbent President and CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the United States of America. Under the leadership of Dana White, his mixed martial arts promotion has grown to become the largest mixed martial arts promotion and a multi-billion dollar company. Born in Manchester, Connecticut, USA, as Dana Federick White Jr. on July 28, 1969, he moved to Las Vegas in the 1990s to pursue his career as a boxercise trainer and a martial arts coach under John Lewis.

Dana White crossed paths with combat sports athletes Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz in Las Vegas and became their manager. It was during his days as a manager for Liddell and Ortizz that he came across Bob Meyrowitz, the owner of the Semaphore Entertainment Group, which was the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Dana White contacted his friend Lorenzo Fertitta, the patron of Station Casinos, and discussed the prospects of buying the UFC from Meyrowitz, who was intending to sell the promotion. In 2001, Lorenzo Fertitta and his brother Frank Fertitta acquired the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for $2 million, turning it into a subsidiary of Zuffa. Dana White was appointed as the CEO of the company, a position he has held ever since. Moreover, under Dana White, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today is the largest mixed martial arts promotion in the world, with an evaluation of billions of dollars. The promotion organizes mixed martial arts events across the world and has a roster full of acclaimed combat sports athletes, besides having the distinction of producing legendary fighters over the past thirty years.

Dana White's mother

Dana White was born to June White in Manchester, Connecticut, USA. She raised Dana White and his sister, Kelly, on her own during their childhood. June White moved to Las Vegas with Dana White and Kelly in search of better wages to support her family. In 2011, in an unauthorized autobiography, June White accused Dana White of abandoning his family by turning “egotistical.” Despite being raised by June White as a single mother, Dana White didn’t have a very good relationship with her.

Dana White Father

Dana White’s father was named Dana White Sr. He was 21 when he had Dana White with June White. Dana White Sr. left his family when the current UFC President and CEO was still a child of five. Dana White recently revealed in an interview with the British journalist Piers Morgan that both of his parents had passed away recently while dropping hints of a strained relationship he had with both of them.
