When Is Round 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft?

The 2025 NFL Draft will be taking place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the team with the right to select the No.1 pick for the upcoming draft is the Tennessee Titans. Some of the high-profile names for the 2025 draft include Deion Sanders' son Shedeur Sanders, two-way phenom Travis Hunter, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

The league changed to seven rounds in the NFL Draft in 1994. Previously, there used to be as many as 32 rounds in the 1940s. The merger with the AFL, saw NFL reduce the number of rounds from 17 to 12 in 1977. Before going for seven rounds, the NFL tried an 8-round draft in 1993 (via ESPN).

What time will Round 3 of the NFL Draft begin?

Round 3 will be happening on the Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday, 25 April. Round 3 of the NFL Draft will begin at 7 PM Eastern Time on Day 2 (via CBS Sports) with the Round 2 selection happening first.

There will be two rounds taking place on Day 2 - Round 2 and 3. Round 2 selection starts from the 33rd pick.

Teams will have five minutes to make a selection in Round 3 of the NFL draft. This is much less when compared to seven minutes for Round 2 and 10 minutes for Round 1 (via CBS Sports).

Joe Montana

Joe Montana is arguably among the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers picked the QB towards the end of the third round as the 82nd overall pick in the 1979 NFL draft. He went on to win four Super Bowls and three Super Bowl MVPs along with two NFL MVPs.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson, one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the history of the NFL is a 10-time pro bowler and led his team to two Super Bowl appearances. The Seattle Seahawks drafted Wilson as the 75th overall pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He led the franchise to the Super Bowl XLVIII victory over the Broncos.

Travis Kelce

Considered one of the greatest tight ends in the NFL, arguably among the top 3, Travis Kelce was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 63rd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. The 10-time Pro Bowler has delivered three Super Bowls to the franchise.

Steve Smith Sr.

Steve Smith is one of the most prolific pass catchers in football. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers as the 74th overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft. The 5x Pro Bowler went on to have eight 1000-yard seasons (via Pro Football Reference) in his 16-year career before hanging the cleats.

Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens is regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of all time. The WR was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as the 89th overall pick in round 3 of the 1996 NFL Draft. While Owens never was able to win a Super Bowl, he etched his name in NFL history by having the third-most receiving yards. The 6x Pro Bowler and 5x First-Team All-Pro finished his career with 15,934 receiving yards and 153 touchdowns, as recorded by Pro Football Reference.
