Early Life
Jacob Fatu’s full name is Jacob Samuel Fatu. He was born on April 18, 1992, in San Francisco, California, USA. He was born to Sam Fatu, otherwise known by the name The Tonga Kid and Tama. Fatu is a member of the Anoa’i wrestling family which also includes some of the most well-known wrestlers like The Rock, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Rikishi, Umaga, Solo Sikoa, Nia Jax, and more. Sam Fatu is the twin brother of Rikishi.
Professional Wrestling Career
Independent Circuit (2012 - 2019)
Jacob Fatu began his training for professional wrestling under the tutelage of his uncle Rikishi. He made his debut in September 2012 and soon started making waves on the independent circuit. During this time, Fatu wrestled for promotions such as KnocX Pro Academy Wrestling, World Xtreme Wrestling, PCW Ultra, Supreme Pro Wrestling, East Bay Pro Wrestling, Wrestling for Charity, Pro Championship Wrestling, Gold Rush Pro Wrestling, and more.
Major League Wrestling (2019 - 2024)
In 2019, Jacob Fatu joined Major League Wrestling (MLW) and formed the Contra Unit faction with Josef Samael and Simon Gotch. Fatu captured the MLW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Tom Lawlor at the Kings of Colosseum event on July 6, 2019, and successfully defended the title against various challengers, including LA Park at MLW's first pay-per-view, Saturday Night SuperFight.
After losing the title to Alex Hammerstone in a winner-takes-all match, Fatu's storyline evolved as he feuded with Hammerstone and later with fellow Contra Unit members Madds Krügger and Ikuro Kwon. Fatu eventually turned face due to fan reaction and rebranded his character. On April 6, 2023, Fatu won the MLW National Openweight Championship by defeating John Hennigan at War Chamber. However, on February 1, 2024, Rikishi announced Fatu's departure from MLW, ending his five-year tenure with the company. Fatu's final appearance for MLW was on February 17, 2024, when he lost to Krügger in a Baleki Brawl match.
NJPW (2024)
Jacob Fatu has only competed in one match in New Japan Pro Wrestling ever. In January 2024, at Battle in the Valley, he teamed up with Fred Rosser and Shota Umino and defeated the team of Jorel Nelson, Royce Isaacs and Tom Lawlor in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.
WWE (2024 - Present)
Starting in April 2024, The Bloodline faction underwent major changes. While Roman Reigns and The Rock went on hiatus, Solo Sikoa kicked out Jimmy Uso and welcomed Tama Tonga to the group followed by his brother Tonga Loa. On June 21, 2024, the three stars were at odds with Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes before the scales were tipped in The Bloodline’s favor after Jacob Fatu made his WWE debut. He destroyed the three superstars and made an impactful debut in WWE.
