Sergei Pavlovich's Early Life and Career
Sergei Pavlovich was born in 1992 in Orlovsky, Rostov Oblast, and began training in Greco-Roman wrestling at the age of five under coach Alexander Fedorovich Aloyan. He continued wrestling until 11th grade and then, after serving in the army, started practicing army hand-to-hand fighting and combat sambo.
In 2014, he began his professional MMA career under Fight Nights Global promotion and won all 12 fights without a single defeat. On June 2, 2017, he won the heavyweight title by unanimous decision in a fight against Mikhail Mokhnatkin. Later, on November 19, 2017, he defended his heavyweight title in a fight against Kirill Sidelnikov.
Sergei Pavlovich’s Career in UFC
Sergei Pavlovich made his debut in the UFC on November 24, 2018, at UFC Fight Night 141, against Alistair Overeem. He lost the fight via TKO in the first round. However, he won his next fight against Marcelo Golm on April 20, 2019, at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Oleinik, via knockout, earning himself a Performance of the Night award. Pavlovich also won his fight against Maurice Greene on October 26, 2019, at UFC Fight Night 162, via knockout in the first round.
