Womens Premier League 2024 Schedule

The first edition of the Women’s Premier League is gearing up and is scheduled from 4th March 2023 to 26th March 2023. The tournament will witness 20 league matches and 2 playoff matches in its inaugural season. The DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne CCI will host 11 matches each. Four double headers will be played in the league stage with the day game scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST while the evening fixtures will get going from 7:30 PM IST.



Five teams will battle one another in the WPL '23: Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz.


In the auction, a total of 87 players were picked up, out of which 57 of them were Indian cricketers. India’s top-order batsman Smriti Mandhana emerged as the most expensive player after she was bagged by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 3.4 crores. While the next top boys were made for Australian Ashleigh Gardener, and English Natalie Sciver for INR 3.2 crores. The two players went to Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively. The Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur will play for Mumbai Indians after she was bagged for a sum of INR 1.8 crores.


Talking of the league, we will see Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants in action in the big opener on 4th March. The game will be played in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai. The next day on 5th, the tournament has its first double-header lined up with the Delhi Capitals going up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the afternoon at the Brabourne CCI. In the evening, UP Warriorz will face Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium.


The final match in the league round will see UP Warriorz versus Delhi Capitals on 21st March at the Brabourne CCI.


For the playoffs, the team finishing at the top of the table post the league stage will directly make it to the Final to be held on 26th March at the Brabourne Stadium. While the 2nd and 3rd positioned teams will square off in the Eliminator on 24th March at the DY Patil Stadium to bag the left spot in the Final.
