Akshay Bhatia turned professional at 17, skipping college to pursue his dream of playing golf at the highest level. The left-handed golfer went up through the Korn Ferry Tour and finally onto the PGA Tour, enjoying a meteoric rise to the top level.

During his journey, Bhatia has only worked with a few caddies, including his girlfriend, Presleigh Schultz. They met shortly before the Valero Texas Open in 2021, and Bhatia later asked her to become his caddie. She agreed, and the couple set out to forge their way on the PGA Tour for almost two years, during which time Bhatia proposed to Schultz in 2023, and she said yes.

Later, in the same year, Bhatia brought Brian Dilley on board as his caddie. Dilley is an experienced caddie who worked with Suzann Pettersen and Billy Horschel on the LPGA and PGA tours, respectively. With Dilley's help, Bhatia clinched his first PGA Tour title, the Barracuda Championship, in July and amassed nearly $2.5 million in career prize money by the end of the year.

However, Dilley helped Bhatia only until early 2024, after which he departed from the PGA Tour entirely to join Caleb Surratt in the LIV Golf League.

Akshay Bhatia’s Caddie

Ryan Jamison is Akshay Bhatia’s current caddie.

Bhatia contacted Ryan Jamison during the break between the Valspar Championship and the Texas Children's Houston Open. Jamison had been a college golf coach for 16 years before he became a professional caddie in 2021. He had served as an assistant coach at Stanford University and as head coach at Florida Atlantic University.

Jamison had previously worked with Suh, a Korn Ferry Tour player. They won the Korn Ferry Tour Championship together, and Suh quickly progressed to the PGA Tour.

Now, with Bhatia, Jamison hopes to add another trophy to his collection.
