Jon Rahm, aka Rahmbo, is a two-time major champion at the 2021 US Open and the 2023 Masters Tournament. He was born on November 10, 1994, in Barrica, Spain. Between 2010 and 2016, he won 19 amateur events, including 11 during his time at Arizona State University. The former amateur world No. 1 turned professional in 2016 and within four years, he held the professional top spot for 52 weeks in 2020.

Rahm joined LIV Golf in December of 2023. That being said, he hasn't won an event since signing with LIV Golf; his most recent victory was at the 2023 Masters Tournament, his 20th professional win. Moreover, he failed to make the cut at the 2024 PGA Championship and tied for 45th place at the Masters Tournament. His Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) as of June 2024 is No. 8.

Who are Jon Rahm’s Parents?

Jon Rahm's parents are Edorta Rahm and Angela Rahm.

Rahm was raised in Barrica, Spain, in the Basque country. According to the Spanish newspaper El Pais, his father, Edorta Rahm, is a gasoline industry worker, and his mother, Angela Rodríguez, is a midwife. Rahm also has an older sibling, Eriz Rahm, who is employed as a set designer at the Palacio Euskalduna, a theater in Bilbao, Basque Country, in Spain.

Rahm’s father liked adventure sports and hiked Mont Blanc with his wife, Angela; however, when they attended the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama, they got interested in golf and the entire Rahm family began taking lessons to learn golf. The Rahm family joined the Larrabea Golf Club in Legutiano, Alava.

Edorta told Andalucia Golf that he would go to Larrabea to play golf and drop his son off while he played with his friends. Jon credits his father for his current golf career. He further added that, he was aware that a career as a professional athlete wasn't certain; it was crucial for Jon to obtain a degree. Thus, he joined Arizona State University, though as parents, they never felt the need to push him.

Rahm's mother, Angela, took lessons from Eduardo Celles. One day, she invited him to see her son play. Jon was about 13 years old then, according to Celles, who expressed his admiration for the young man's talent, and for the following two years, he became his coach.
