Eldrick Tont Woods, professionally known as Tiger Woods, is one of the greatest golfers the world has ever seen. He earned his nickname 'Tiger' from his father, Earl Woods, for honoring his close friend in the army, Colonel Vuong Dang Phong, who was also called by the name 'Tiger'. He was born in Cypress, California, on December 30, 1975. With his immense skills and multiple championships, Woods engraved his name in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2021.

Tiger Woods was the most successful player in golf history, having occupied the top spot for 683 weeks overall. In addition, he owns the record for the most weeks in a row at the top spot—281 weeks from June 12, 2005, to October 30, 2010, in this regard. He is a recipient of the Byron Nelson Award for the lowest adjusted scoring average eight times, in addition to a record eleven times as PGA Player of the Year. Sam Snead and Woods are tied for the most PGA Tour victories ever with 82, while Woods has won 15 professional major golf tournaments, only three less than Jack Nicklaus, who leads with 18. In terms of PGA Tour victories and career major victories, Woods leads all active golfers. Woods is the youngest player in history to complete a career Grand Slam and the fifth overall (after Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus). In addition, he is the second golfer (after Nicklaus) to complete a career Grand Slam three times. He holds 18 World Golf Championship victories.

Tiger Woods Kids

Tiger Woods has two kids: a son named Charlie Axel and a daughter named Sam Alexis.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, the former couple, first connected in the early 2000s, and a few years later, they were married in an exquisite ceremony. The couple celebrated the birth of their first child, a daughter named Sam Alexis, in 2007. With the birth of their son, Charlie Axel, in 2009, the family grew once more.

By the time his kids were young toddlers, Woods had become involved in a scandal following rumors that he had multiple extramarital affairs while he was married. Although there may have been tension between the parents, Wood and Nordegren tried to act in Sam and Charlie's best interests when they formalized their divorce in 2010. The biggest satisfaction, according to Woods, is watching his kids grow.

"I just love being with them and seeing what they're doing, what they're capable of doing—the joys, just the shifts of interest. It's just fun. We have a great time together," he said via Sports Illustrated.

Tiger Woods' Daughter, Sam Alexis

The eldest child of Woods and Nordegren, Sam Alexis Woods, was born on June 18, 2007, in Orlando, Florida. As Woods' father had always referred to Tiger as Sam when he was growing up, the couple chose a name with particular significance, as per People.

From the beginning, Woods gave his daughter a passion for sports; he recalled putting a golf club in Sam's hands when she was just a few weeks old. Sam went to her dad's first golf competition when she was barely six months old. She was seen cheering him on from the stands several times when she was younger.

Woods revealed in 2021 that his daughter had taught him "how to be more patient." He added that although she was already a teenager, she was still his "little girl." In December 2023, Sam's father participated in the Pro-Am of the PNC Championship, giving her the chance to caddie for the first time.

Tiger Woods' Son, Charlie Axel

Charlie Axel Woods was born on February 8, 2009, following the announcement in 2008 that Woods and Nordegren were expecting their second child. While they had a few options for names, Woods explained that Charlie "just fit." Meanwhile, the boy's middle name was a tribute to Nordegren's brother, as per People.

Charlie's passion for sports began at an early age; according to Woods, when Charlie was two years old, all he wanted to do was play sports. He was interested in many different sports, but he eventually started to play golf like his father.

Charlie got a head start on his golf career with his father's assistance, training with the pros, and watching from the sidelines. He was already competing against other young players on the greens by the time he was 11.

When the father-son team participated in the inaugural event together in 2020—the PNC Championship in Orlando—fans saw that they had strikingly similar body language. In December 2022, the father-son duo returned to the PNC Championship.
