It all started with team Perth Scorchers Women winning the toss and deciding to have a bowl first. The Adelaide Strikers Women utilized this opportunity well and posted a massive total of 169 runs on the board. Both their openers Smriti Mandhana and Katie Mack played blistering knocks earlier in the innings which helped them to reach such a total. Laura Wolvaardt's exceptional knock of 48 runs in just 28 deliveries can also be not forgotten. In terms of bowling, Megan Schutt struck right in the first over, which deviated the Scorchers from the chasing path. Anesu Mushangwe and Amanda Wellington also grabbed 2 wickets each. They never allowed the visitors to be back in this chase and made this contest a one-sided affair in the end.

Perth Scorchers Women found themselves under extreme pressure when they lost 4 quick wickets. But after this skipper Sophie Devine and Brooke Halliday hung on in the middle for quite some time and made a strong partnership, but due to the required rate pressure, they both threw their wickets away in search of big shots, which was indeed the need of the hour. Their batters seemed a bit rusty tonight. In bowling, Alana King once again outclassed everyone and took 3 wickets. Skipper Devine too made a crucial contribution by taking 2 wickets. She contributed well with both the ball and bowl tonight, but this all goes in vain, unfortunately.
