That brings us to a close of our live coverage of this first Women's ODI between Australia and Bangladesh. For now, it's Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of Bidipto Datta. See you soon!
Alyssa Healy, Australia Captain - " I've played here twice now and it has been kind of lucky! We were put under pressure early on by the Bangladeshi bowlers and we had to come back into the game. It was about patience and with the spinners we knew we were always in the game. We would look to improve from the batting side of things but 220 was certainly competitive. We have got a lot of variety in our attack and the bowlers enjoyed the conditions. "
Alana King is the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say.
Alana King: It was great to bat at that particular time after Annabel Sutherland and Ash Gardner did all the hard work. I had some fun in the end! Well when it was turning a lot in the second innings, all Alyssa Healy told me was to keep it simple and just hit the right areas.
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women captain): We started really well, took five wickets early, but then, it just went downhill from there. There were some silly run-outs and the whole batting innings fell apart. We should have hung in there on that wicket, we will look to improve on that front going forward.
The post match presentation will be coming up shortly!
Bangladesh 95 all out in 36 overs Nigar Sultana 27 (64) | Ashleigh Gardner 3/22 Sobhana Mostary 17 (38) | Kim Garth 2/26
Australia have put up a remarkable performance with the ball here and it's Ashleigh Gardner who has finished things off with a couple of wickets. This has been a monumental collapse from Bangladesh as they were placed comfortably at 70/2 at the time of the first drinks break but ended up loosing 8 wickets in just the next 18 overs of the innings. It included three run outs which shows how baffling the running between the wickets was.
Bangladesh lost a couple of wickets early in the powerplay but the pair of Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana, the Bangladesh skipper put on a partnership. The pair got some streaky boundaries via edges but they managed to put up a partnership of note as they put on 49 runs. It was broken by Alana King post the drinks break which triggered the collapse. Bangladesh kept loosing wickets at regular intervals from there on and it was their skipper Sultana who ended up as the top scorer with her 27.
Australia squeezed out the runs and managed to build up a string of tidy overs to create the pressure on Bangladesh and it worked. The inexperience showed from the batters as Alana King bowled extremely economically and was well backed up Ellyse Perry, whose spell saw two run outs. Kim Garth came back into the attack and along with Gardner, cleaned up the tail as the duo snared five wickets between them.
Australia win the first ODI by 118 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the three match One Day series!

35.6 Ashleigh Gardner to Marufa Akter, THAT WILL BE THAT! GARDNER FINISHES IT OFF! AUSTRALIA WIN CONVINCINGLY! Good length flatter off-break on off-and-middle. Marufa went back to it and tried to turn it around to sqaure-leg. But she was late on the ball. The ball sped through her defense and rapped her in front of the stumps on the pads. The appeal for LBW then got upheld instantly!
