Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women captain): We tried our best to get it over and done with quickly. But the pitch wasn't all too helpful for that. Anyway, we have two points on the board. The performance was good again. There have been quite a few highly impressive individual performances, like Marizanne Kapp with bat and ball. She was economical once again and she just does it over and over again. Let's see now as to what happens with the qualification scenario!
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women captain): I think our batting in the power play was not up to the mark. We played too many dots as well, and that adds up to the problems. We needed more runs on the board against this South African side. I think we have a good set of young players. They are pretty talented. Shorna Akter is a talented player, but has missed out in this tournament. Sobhana Mostary's runs in this World Cup pleases me. Rabeya Khan has been impressive, Marufa Akter keeps trying her best. Experienced players like Fahima Khatun are pushing hard too. So, we just need to keep things moving in the right direction. A word for the fans, they have been brilliant! Coming from Bangladesh, this has been a superb turn-out in tough circumstances back home.
Tazmin Brits (Player of the Match): I said to Bosch that we have to turn the strike. We didn't want to lose another quick wicket. She took the pressure off me with some boundaries. I keep wanting more, never satisfied with what I have achieved. It wasn't an easy wicket. They bowled slow and were quite good with the field placing. I had to try and run a bit harder and play some strokes other than what I usually play.

So, South Africa get it done and dusted in the 18th over but their net run rate has gone down from what it was before this match. However, it's 2 more points collected to sit on 6 points. Their group stage is done, but they will be satisfied with this effort on a pitch that turned quite a bit in the 2nd innings.
Tazmin Brits and Anneke Bosch played well together for the 2nd wicket with a fine 50-run partnership. Bangladesh's fielding helped a lot, and that is one area where Nigar Sultana and her team needs to do a whole lot better, but of course, the batting, when put under the pressure against spin, responded more than decently.
In the end, both Marizanne Kapp and Chole Tryon finished it off rather convincingly. Tryon got a good hit out in the middle to do her confidence a world of good.
Fahima Khatun bowled well. She turned the ball, bowled a lot slower through the air and got the ball to hold in the surface. The rest of the spinners, and Ritu Moni with her medium pace, did okay, but Bangladesh needed more on the board.
So this is it for both these teams as far as Group B goes. Bangladesh are out of the competition, but South Africa's fate is now in England's hands. If they win both their games, these are the two sides that progress into the semi-finals.
