Not too many overs were possible in the last session of the day but Chhattisgarh managed to prize out the wicket of Prithvi Shaw for 45. Bhupen Lalwani (40*) and Amogh Bhatkal (6*) are the incumbent batters and they will want to bat out as much time as possible to eliminate a loss out of the equation. Chhattisgarh must look to trigger a collapse similar to what they did in the first innings. Can they do so?

In a thrilling passage of play, Chhattisgarh fell agonizingly short of taking the lead as they were bowled out for 350, handing Mumbai a crucial 1-run lead in the process. It could well prove to be monumental should this game end in a draw and Tushar Deshpande was the hero as he trapped Amandeep Khare in front for 143 to bag his fifth wicket. Openers Prithvi Shaw (35*) and Bhupen Lalwani (22*) then picked up from where they left off on Day 1 and they will aim towards powering Mumbai forward at a brisk pace.

Captain Amandeep Khare fought brilliantly on the third morning to take Chhattisgarh within touching distance of Mumbai's first innings score of 351. Unbeaten on 120, he powered along nearly single-handedly even as Ajay Mandal started off briskly before perishing for 21 as his Chennai Super Kings teammate Tushar Deshpande accounted for his wicket. In fact, Deshpande picked up three wickets this morning to take his tally to four and should this game not produce a result, the half an hour post Lunch could prove to be the most decisive phase of the contest.

Another session where the honors were shared although Chhattisgarh won't be too disappointed. That said, having lost four wickets already, they need a massive partnership now in order to get close to Mumbai's first innings total. Skipper Amandeep Khare (35*) holds the aces on that front even as Sanjeet Desai was dismissed for 41. Shardul Thakur, on the other hand, has sent down 12 overs for 37 runs without managing a wicket yet.

An even session in Raipur although hosts Chhattisgarh remain primed to match Mumbai's first innings score at the very least. The opening stand between Shashank Chandrakar (56) and Rishabh Tiwari (25) was worth 87 runs before both were nipped in the bud in quick succession. Ashutosh Singh (6*) and Sanjeet Desai (8*) will now look to drive the innings forward for the hosts.

Ajinkya Rahane's wretched run of form continued as he managed a solitary run although Bhupen Lalwani notched up a century of his own before he was dismissed for 102. Suryansh Shedge (17*) and Hardik Tamore (1*) are the overnight batters who will be keen to power Mumbai to a big total.
