Ajay Mandal Domestic Career
Ajay Mandal made his domestic debut for Chhattisgarh against Tripura on October 06, 2016, in the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 season. He picked 7 wickets across the two innings, including a four-wicket haul in the second innings.
Under the leadership of veteran Indian batter Mohammad Kaif, Mandal made his T20 debut for Chhattisgarh against Uttar Pradesh (UP) on January 29, 2017, in the Inter-State T20 Tournament. He scored 8* off 6 balls, was expensive with the ball, and went wicketless as well.
Mandal made his List-A debut for Chhattisgarh against Hyderabad on September 3, 2018, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19 season. He picked up a solitary wicket and was dismissed for 3 runs off 6 balls.
In the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 season, Mandal was in full swing as he scored an unbeaten 241 against Uttarakhand. It was the most runs scored by a No.8 batter in an innings in the Ranji Trophy history.
In January 2023, the 28-year-old all-rounder became the first Chhattisgarh bowler to take 100 wickets in the Ranji Trophy. He also leads the bowling chart for Chhattisgarh in FC with a total of 114 wickets so far. Mandal signed as an overseas pro for Doncaster Town Cricket Club (DTCC) in 2023.

Following his all-round exploits in domestic cricket, the Chennai Super Kings signed Ajay Mandal for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction. Though he has yet to make his IPL debut, Mandal was retained by CSK for the IPL 2024 season.
