Tamil Nadu beat Goa by 7 wickets, pocket six points.
S Lokeshwar (52) and Pradosh Ranjan Paul (65) both fell on the fourth morning but it caused no harm to Tamil Nadu's chances as they cruised home by seven wickets against Goa. The overnight batters continued with their merry ways and shut the door firmly on the hosts' chances of a comeback. Baba Indrajith and Vijay Shankar were in the middle when the winning runs were scored and the result now takes Tamil Nadu to 21 points, level on top with Karnataka.
Stumps on Day 3 - Tamil Nadu 61/1 in the 2nd innings, need another 76 runs to win.
Another day, another collapse out of nowhere. This has been the hallmark of this contest and that is what Goa will be pinning their hopes on with Tamil Nadu right in the ascendancy in Porvorim. Suyash Prabhudessai continued his excellent run of form with a solid 79 while Krishnamurthy Siddharth chipped in with 32. Only one other batter crossed double-digits though as the rest crumbled badly. Goa lost their way from 155/5 and were bundled out for 168 with R Sai Kishore and S Ajith Ram snapping up four wickets apiece and doing majority of the damage again. While Narayan Jagadeesan was dismissed early for four runs, S Lokeshwar (34*) and Pradosh Ranjan Paul (22*) have put the visitors in pole position to script a third consecutive win. Provided there's not another collapse of course...
Stumps on Day 2 - Goa 10/0, trail Tamil Nadu by 22 runs in the 2nd innings.
A slender 32-run lead is what Tamil Nadu managed in the first innings as they were bowled out for 273 in Porvorim. Narayan Jagadeesan (75) continued to rack up the runs while Pradosh Ranjan Paul (71) and Vijay Shankar (54) also chipped in with solid fifties. But the collapse was alarming, much like Goa's, as the visitors slipped from 235/3 to 273 all out. Can Goa make a fist of things and set Tamil Nadu a stiff fourth innings target?
Stumps on Day 1 - Tamil Nadu 20/0, trail Goa by 221 runs in the 1st innings.
Another excellent opening day for Tamil Nadu as they routed Goa for 241 in the first innings after being asked to bowl first in Porvorim. Suyash Prabhudessai (104) and Krishnamurthy Siddharth (69) held the innings together but the hosts sunk from 233/4 to 241 all out in what was an alarming collapse. Skipper R Sai Kishore and S Ajith Ram shared seven wickets before openers Narayan Jagadeesan (3*) and S Lokeshwar (15*) got through a tricky seven-over period. Can Tamil Nadu make it three wins on the bounce?
