Match drawn; Karnataka pocket three points on first innings lead while Goa take one point.
Goa lost two more wickets in the final session of the match to finish on 282/6. There was no dislodging Suyash Prabhudessai though as he remained unbeaten on 143 before the captains shook hands with Goa's lead at 105, shutting the door on Karnataka's chances of securing an outright win. With a healthy first innings lead having been secured though, the hosts took three points with them while Goa walked away with a lone point.
Tea on Day 4 - Goa 243/4, lead Karnataka by 66 runs in the 2nd innings.
Suyash Prabhudessai continues to have his moment out in the sun having notched up a century. Batting on 124, he has extended Goa's lead to 66 by Tea with Deepraj Gaonkar (36) combining forces with him for a 97-run partnership. Skipper Darshan Misal (8*) is now batting alongside Prabhudessai and chances of an outright win for Karnataka now look very slim.
Lunch on Day 4 - Goa 160/3, trail Karnataka by 17 runs in the 2nd innings.
Goa have come within touching distance of taking the match into a fourth innings. While KV Siddharth failed to add to his overnight score, Suyash Prabhudessai (72*) and Deepraj Gaonkar (18*) dug in deep to defy the Karnataka attack. Can the hosts wipe out the last seven wickets quickly enough to give themselves a shot at winning this match?
Stumps on Day 3 - Goa 93/1, trail Karnataka by 84 runs in the 2nd innings.
Despite losing Ishaan Gadekar early, Goa put on a spirited display with the bat thanks to an ongoing partnership of 92 between Suyash Prabhudessai (34*) and former Karnataka player KV Siddharth (57*). The deficit has come down to 84 and while a win might be out of the window for all practical purposes, Goa will look to keep the Karnataka bowlers at bay on Monday and avoid defeat at the very least.
Tea on Day 3 - Karnataka 498/9 d, lead Goa by 177 runs in the 1st innings.
Nikin Jose stroked his way to a sparkling century (107), marking the third hundred of the innings by a Karnataka batter. Sharath Srinivas fell a run short of a half-century but Jose continued to score runs at will with Shubhang Hegde chipping in with 36. Skipper Darshan Misal finished with 6/134 while Mohit Redkar picked up the remaining three wickets. The injured Manish Pandey didn't turn out to bat for Karnataka and the focus now shifts to the Goan response and if they can mount a fightback.
Lunch on Day 3 - Karnataka 396/4, lead Goa by 75 runs in the 1st innings.
Overnight batters Nikin Jose (73*) and Sharath Srinivas (48*) stitched together a fabulous partnership that not only saw Karnataka rub off the first innings deficit, but bolster their chances of a solid lead in the process. The lead now stands at 75 with Goa failing to pick up a wicket on the third morning and Karnataka will look to keep batting as long as they possibly can to shut the door on the visitors for good.
Stumps on Day 2 - Karnataka 251/4, trail Goa by 70 runs in the 1st innings.
A spectacular 209-run second wicket partnership between Devdutt Padikkal (101) and Mayank Agarwal (114) headlined Karnataka's dominance with the bat on Day 2 of this third round clash in Mysore. Goa's spinners did bulk of the bowling and the aforementioned batters cashed in to make hay. While they were both dismissed in the final session - as was night watchman Rohit Kumar - vice-captain Nikin Jose (3*) and wicket-keeper Sharath Srinivas (0*) will look to rub off the deficit and take the hosts into the lead. It's all the more important with a cloud hanging over Manish Pandey, who suffered an injury while fielding on Day 1.
Lunch on Day 2 - Karnataka 27/1, trail Goa by 294 runs in the 1st innings.
A brilliant comeback by Goa has put them on course to pull off something special depending on how they bowl in the first innings. A 93-run ninth wicket partnership between Arjun Tendulkar (52) and Heramb Parab (53) frustrated the Karnataka attack to stretch Goa's total to 321. Dega Nischal (16) and skipper Mayank Agarwal (11*) began positively before the former was trapped in front by captain Darshan Misal at the stroke of Lunch. Karnataka need a big partnership between Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal, who is likely to bat at 3, to steady the ship.
Stumps on Day 1 - Goa 228/8 in the 1st innings.
A day that has definitely belonged to Karnataka even as Goa continue to fight hard. Snehal Kauthankar was dismissed for 83 by M Venkatesh, who is playing his first game of the season, while Arjun Tendulkar remains unbeaten on 10. With Heramb Parab batting on 6, can Goa drag their score past 250 and then put up an inspired show with the ball?
Tea on Day 1 - Goa 142/5 in the 1st innings.
A recovery of sorts by Goa as they score 82 runs in the post-Lunch session for the loss of two wickets. Off-spinner Rohit Kumar accounted for both wickets including that of skipper Darshan Misal (39) but Snehal Kauthankar (52*) is still going strong. Wicket-keeper Samar Dubhashi (9*) also has a big part to play even as Karnataka look to bowl the visitors out by Stumps.
