That brings us to the end of our coverage from this encounter. Till the next time, this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Mohul Bhowmick.
Manish Pandey (Hubli Tigers' captain): Both the lefties batted extremely well, but it was an even better job by the bowlers. Nischith Pai came and delivered today. Mithra too. We do not take anything easy. We have another four games to go, and are keen on improving even further. We do have our plans in place but that also needs the entire team to come together and do well. Aneeshwar Gautam has been batting well; he grabbed the opportunity that came his way today and I hope that he continues.
It turned out to be a rather convincing victory for the Hubli Tigers, as they bowled out the Mangaluru Dragons for just 167 runs. That also means that they have been knocked out of the playoffs race. It was a brilliant effort by the Hubli Tigers as they go to the top of the points table. The target of 210 was always going to be a tough ask for the Mangaluru Dragons but they made their intentions pretty clear right from the outset.
Macneil Noronha smashed three fours in the opening over to get going but good work was undone when they lost both openers in quick time. Rohan Patil, Lochan Gowda and KV Siddharth fell in crucial junctures of game. Rohan and Siddharth shared a 30 run stand before Lochan and Siddharth continued the great work.
They kept finding the boundaries pretty regularly as the Dragons were back into the game. Shreyas Gopal also looked in great touch and scored a 23 ball 38. The batter kept finding the gaps at different junctures of the game but didn't get enough support from the other end. Eventually they were bowed out for 167 inside the 20th over, handing them a 42 run win.
19.2 Manvanth Kumar L to Paras Gurbax Arya, BOWLED HIM! At a length on off and middle, comes back in. Arya tries to play the scoop shot but misses the ball completely. It goes on to hammer into his stumps and shatter them!
19.1 Manvanth Kumar L to Abhilash Shetty, at a length and slightly wide outside off. Shetty pats it down to mid off for a quick single.
That's the penultimate over of the match gone by and it's all but over for the Mangaluru Dragons. They are all set to become the first team to get eliminated from the competition.
