That concludes all the live action from this game today, folks! Thank you for staying with us throughout the exciting moments. Your commentators for today were Lavil Saldanha and Tasmai Krishnan. Have a fantastic day ahead!
Kieron Pollard (New York Strikers): Yesterday's loss wasn't consequential. It was a new game for us and we executed our plans all over again. The pitch isn't conducive to bat always, you add 15-20 runs more and it becomes a good total. (About Akeal Hosein's performance) It was a fantastic performance. I have seen his performance since he was a kid. He comes to the fore every time whenever asked and when I have tried my tactics. Credit goes to all the boys. No plans for tonight, guys can have a day off and they deserve a couple of overs. I won't say anything to them. We were losing finalists last year and want to go the extra mile. The owners have invested a lot and we want to give it back to them
Akeal Hosein (Man of the match for his 5/8): It is a great feeling. It is basically to use what works with you. I'm a spinner but if it is swinging try to bowl it quicker. It is all about getting the execution right. It is all about keeping your mind calm and once you bowl it try to bowl the best ball. I take my celebration ideas from Fifa or my younger brother. Dwayne Bravo told me that this is the toughest format so that's an advice I take with me
NEW YORK STRIKERS WIN BY 41 RUNS!
Rahamanullah Gurbaz 56(28) | Qais Ahmad (2-0-24-2) Qais Ahmad 31 (12) | Akeal Hosein (2-0-6-5)
A very one force dominated match comes to an end, with the obvious and better team today, clinching victory, which was none other than the New York Strikers.
The game took off courtesy a stupendous knock up top from Gurbaz, who absolutely took control over the game, with some free flowing shots through the off side and some powerful shots over the leg side.
Qais Ahmad bowled a phenomenal spell, striking twice, characterized with some good and well paced leggies! He was also the only ray of hope for the Samp Army with the bat, with a flashy cameo down the order courtesy a 31 of just balls worth 2 overs.
But one man stole the show!! AKEAL HOSEIN! WHAT A SPELL! 5 wickets for only 6 runs and all 5 were equally breath taking!! His variants in the middle, and the way he fielded too was superb to spectate!! Truly a tremendous spell from him!!
You really can't say too much about the top order batters of the Samp Army, who were completely bamboozled by this wonderful spell delivered by Hosein!
Overall, we witnessed a marvellous game of cricket, permeated by its ups and owns, and there was always one side slated to win after the first 2 overs, and as poised to occur, it did happen!
