Commentary

Thank you so much for joining us for the test match. This is Raghav and myself (Pranav Danani) who will be taking your leave. If you are wondering as to what is next then don't you go anywhere as we have got some cricketing action covered for you as we have some T10 cricket from ECS Netherlands followed by the big one as Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Gujrat Titans at the DY Patil Stadium.

South Africa (453 & 176/6d - Keshav Maharaj 84 off 95, Khaled Ahmed 3/100 in 29 overs) beat Bangladesh (217 & 80 - Tamim Iqbal 47 off 57, Keshav Maharaj - 7/40 in 12 overs) by 322 runs.

South Africa have managed to get a clean sweep in the series and Keshav Maharaj is the name in the mouths of everyone in either side as he becomes the first ever bowler in the history of the game to take two consecutive 7 wicket hauls in the final innings of the consecutive test matches. South Africa have surely made this test match into a one sided affair and the second innings was all the games to be played for South Africa as the wickets just kept flowing like water for them.

Bangladesh had a mountain of a target to chase and from the word "go" the spinners went on a rampage mode as they managed to get all the wickets in the very first session of the match. Keshav Maharaj picked up 7 wickets yet again alongside his partner in crime Harmer as he manages to get the wickets for his side. Bangladesh had all their hopes alive when Litton Das and Mehidy Hasdan Miraz were out there batting as they were the only hope for a draw when the entire top order had been dismantled by the spin attack, but it was the poor shot selection from Ali and Litton as they came down the track to the in form spinners which lead them to get the easy catches.

All in all, it was the Keshav Maharaj show and South Africa must be rewarded with the points handsomely on the ICC Test Rankings for the World Test Championship. The South Africans have a lot of cricket coming up ahead of them and they will look to be on the top two spots until 2023 and beyond. Bangladesh will look to go back into the nets and prepare for the series against Sri Lanka in May on their home turf.

The skipper calls his mates to collect the trophy and the celebrations begin in the South African dressing room as they win the series with a clean sheet of 2-0. Happy faces and the happiest one of them all is Keshav Maharaj as he goes to collect his two trophies.

Mominul Haque (Captain, Bangladesh) - We couldn't play as a team in both the tests and South Africa have played as a team and i would congratulate them but we have to move forward. When we played together, we did play together but we did not make the partnerships which we need to make for sure. Any conditions you have to absorb and we can't make an excuse of foreign conditions as we have to adapt. We have to look at the process rather than looking at the result. The upside is that we have the One Day Series but we need to work on the Test Series as well.

Keshav Maharaj (Player of the Match and Series) - Really happy as the conditions weren't suited to us and yet we did an amazing job as the unit. The coach said that you are doing the right things and the time will come for the wickets. I just repeat the same process from the time i have been playing domestic cricket with some tweaks here and there. I don't look at my stats and Harmer coming back into international cricket has done a splendid job as he bowled fantastic. With the bat i managed to get the ball to the middle of the bat for the runs but for me it was the team's total that matters the most.

Dean Elgar (Captain, South Africa) - It has been a good last few months taking the captaincy and i look at it as opportunity to improve. The biggest one for the spinners was to trust the process and for the players to trust the plans and it was amazing to see two of them experienced in their own levels as they did the job. I was glad that plan A worked and there was no need to implement the plan B and C. Keshav and Simon have been leading the way I am lucky that we have not one but two quality two experienced spin bowlers. The attitude of the younger guys, the lower order making the runs and the participation is what is amazing to see and we surely have a chance to win many more series as well.

The celebrations begin for South Africa as they have won the series with a margin that could not get more humongous as the spinners have got the party started early on for the home side. The players are shaking hands and giving each other the hugs for a splendid performances and on the other side Bangladesh have their faces dropped as we head to the presentation.
