Mahmudul Hasan Joy is a Bangladeshi cricketer born on November 13, 2000. He is a right-handed batter and is primarily regarded as a top-order batter. Joy was pivotal in the Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team winning their maiden ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup title in 2020.

Joy represents the Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The right-handed batter has played a handful of Tests for the Bangladesh cricket team along with a few T20 matches.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy started his professional career in 2019. On March 8, 2019, he made his domestic debut for Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protistan against Abahani Limited in the first match of the Dhaka Premier League Division Cricket League during the 2018-19 season in Mirpur. On his List-A debut, he was dismissed by Mohammad Saifuddin for 4 off 6 balls.

In the Bangabandhu T20 Cup 2020, Joy made his T20 debut for Gazi Group Chattogram against Beximco Dhaka on December 6, 2020, in Mirpur. He scored 26 runs off 24 balls, which included 3 boundaries and a six. Joy made his first-class (FC) debut on February 26, 2021, for the Bangladesh Emerging Team against Ireland in the only unofficial Test held in Chattogram in Ireland’s tour of Bangladesh. He scored 42 runs off 77 balls in the first innings.

Joy scored his maiden Test century against South Africa in the first Test in Durban on March 31, 2022. He was the last man standing for Bangladesh and scored a defying knock of 137. In the process, the youngster also became the first Bangladeshi to score a Test century against South Africa.
