Thanks a lot for joining us- Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and Mohul Bhowmick- for this exciting game in the Big Bash League. We hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, ciao!
Jordan Silk, Player of the Match: Huge win. What a finish this was. I am pleased with the way the boys played today and kept their nerve right till the end. It was not easy but a massive win for us. The game seemed to be getting away at one point, but we managed to pull it off.
Sydney Sixers beat Adelaide Strikers by 1 run!
Jordan Silk 66* (45) | Jamie Overton 3-23 Matthew Short 55 (48) | Moises Henriques 2-11
The game came down to the last ball, and it seemed all in the hands of the Strikers, but Ben Dwarshuis kept his nerve and managed to win the game for his team. Jamie Overton is sitting in the dressing room with his hands on his head but there was nothing more that the Englishman could have done in this game.
The Strikers started well and it was rather unfortunate that they could not pull this game off. Matthew Short led his team towards the finish line, but as it happened, they could not quite chase this rather scrappy total down which the Sixers themselves would not have believed capable of defending.
The Sixers now have three wins in the three games that they have played so far whereas the Strikers have been quite unfortunate to lose this one. In the end, it was the side that managed to keep its calm that won the game, and in this one, it was the Sixers. One has to spare a thought for Overton just as one appreciates Dwarshuis.

And the Sixers have done it! Dwarshuis is able to keep the last ball away from the boundary!
19.6 Ben Dwarshuis to Jamie Overton, Overton unable to get over the line and find the boundary as Sydney Sixers win by 1 runs. Slices away the fuller one a tad outside off straight to the sweeper cover fielder and could only take a couple of runs.
Four needed off one ball!
19.5 Ben Dwarshuis to Harry Nielsen, Nielsen moves across off and drills the fuller one a shade outside off, down towards long on and takes a single. 4 runs required off the final delivery.
19.4 Ben Dwarshuis to Jamie Overton, fuller-length delivery a shade outside off, pushed away towards the mid-off region for a single.
If anybody can hit that ball for a six, it is Jamie Overton!
