It turned out to be a one-sided tussle through and through. In the absence of their senior pros Behrendorff and Richarson, the Scorchers bowlers bowled exceptionally and made life difficult for Sydney Thunder batters. We got a double-header tomorrow and hope it provides us with all the thrills and spills. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Mohul signing off
Perth Scorchers won by 9 wickets Cameron Bancroft 55(40) | Oliver Davies 52(36) Andrew Tye 3-27(4) | Nathan McAndrew 1-17(3)
GAME.SET.MATCH. It was a sumptuous all-round display by Perth Scorchers as they steamrolled Syndey Thunder and came out on top with minimum fuss. It's safe to say that this match was finished when the Scorchers' bowlers managed to bowl out Thunder for 111. Everything after that turned out to be a mere formality under the lights. Eskinazi tore the bowlers apart at the start as the Scorchers raced to 38-0 inside the powerplay. Bancroft too played some stunning shots and scored his half-century.
McAndrew picked up the only wicket that fell but that came too late after all the damage was done. It was smooth sailing for the Scorchers right from the start as they take revenge for their defeat to Sydney Thunder earlier
