Dmitry Bivol has achieved enough success in his professional boxing career which makes him one of the best boxers of his generation. Starting as an amateur, Bivol earned multiple accolades and amassed a stellar record in his favor. He won two world championships at the junior U-17 level and a bronze medal at the 2008 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Bivol was also the winner of the Russian national amateur boxing championships in 2012 and 2014. At the conclusion of his amateur career, Bivol compiled a spectacular record of 218 victories and 15 losses. Dmitry Bivol made his professional debut on November 28, 2014, against Jorge Rodriguez Oliveira. He secured a sixth-round TKO victory to start his professional career. Bivol marched on outclassing his opponents one after the other while filling the win column in his professional record.

On May 7, 2022, Dmitry Bivol was locked in his biggest professional fight against the Mexican professional boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez. Bivol pulled off a unanimous decision victory by outclassing Alvarez and defending his WBA (Super) light heavyweight title successfully. The pay-per-view event helped Bivol and his popularity surged in the combat sports circles.

Dmitry Bivol was born to Yuriy Bivol and Yelena Bivol on December 18, 1990, at Tokmok, Kirghiz SSR, Soviet Union which is now a part of Kyrgyzstan. His father is of Moldovian descent whereas his mother Yelena is of Korean ethnicity. Dmitry Bivol was brought up in Kirghiz SSR in his childhood and later he moved to Saint Petersburg Russia.
