Marty Scurll: A Brief Biography
Marty Scurll (Full name: Martin "Marty Scurll) is an English professional wrestler who is currently signed to Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH), where he currently holds the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships along with fellow Villain Enterprises members PCO and Brody King. Scurll is also a former one-time ROH TV Champion.
Scurll is also working for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) as a part-timer and is a former one-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion and NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion. Scurll is also a former member of the Bullet Club and eventually broke out with The Elite. Scurll eventually left The Elite after his fellow stablemates departed from ROH and NJPW, as he formed Villain Enterprises which debuted at the Final Battle 2018 tapings.
Scurll has also worked for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), Impact Wrestling, Progress Wrestling, Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW), Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw). He is also working for Australian based promotion World Series Wrestling (WSW) and is current WSW World Champion.
Progress Wrestling
Marty Scurll made his Progress Wrestling debut at their first-ever show, Chapter One and competed in a tournament to determine the first ever PROGRESS World Champion. Despite failing to win the title in his first attempt, Scurll remains a former two-time PROGRESS World Champion.
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG)
In 2015, Marty Scurll made his PWG debut at the 2015 Battle of Los Angeles. The following year, Scurll won the Battle of Los Angeles 2016.
Ring of Honor
Marty Scurll signed with ROH in 2016 and on his first tour with the promotion, Scurll won the ROH World Television Championship from Will Ospreay. In 2017, on night 3 of the War of the Worlds tour, Scurll was revealed as the newest member of the Bullet Club, as he replaced Adam Cole in the faction. At the ROH 17th Anniversary Show, the Villain Enterprises (Scurll, PCO, and Brody King) won the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships.
New Japan Pro Wrestling
In 2017, NJPW announced Marty Scurll's participation in the 2017 Best of the Super Juniors tournament Scurll finished the tournament with four wins and three losses and at the Power Struggle pay-per-view, he once again defeated Will Ospreay, this time to win the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship. His first title in NJPW. At Wrestle Kingdom 12, Scurll lost the title back to Ospreay in a fatal four-way match also involving Hiromu Takahashi and Kushida.
At Wrestling Dontaku 2018, Scurll along with The Young Bucks defeated the fellow Bullet Club trio of Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa to win the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships.
In 2019, Scurll made his return to NJPW as he competed in the annual BOSJ tournament as he ended with 10 points on board.
