The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women's franchise is owned by the United Spirits, which also owns the men's franchise in the Indian Premier League. The Bengaluru-based franchise is led by Smriti Mandhana and coached by Luke Williams.

History

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women racked up the services of Indian top-order batter Smriti Mandhana for INR 3.4 crores in the inaugural Women's Premier League auction. The franchise had an underwhelming outing in the first season, as the Mandhana-led unit failed to make it to the knockout stages.

However, things turned for the better in WPL 2024, as Smriti and Co. scripted history by becoming the first Bangalore-based franchise to win a T20 league. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women defeated inaugural champions Mumbai Indians Women in the Eliminator before overcoming the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals Women to clinch their maiden WPL title. Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry and Indian cricketer Shreyanka Patil were awarded with the orange and purple caps, respectively, for their stellar performances.

#1. Ellyse Perry

One of the greatest cricketers to ever grace the field, Australia's Ellyse Perry will once again be the key to the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women's fortunes with both bat and ball in WPL 2025. In 23 matches, Perry has smashed 895 runs @63.92/132.00 with eight 50-plus scores. She has also taken 12 wickets in 18 outings at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 7.75.

#2. Smriti Mandhana

The Indian run machine will once again have a big role to play if the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women were to retain their Women's Premier League title. In 24 WPL matches thus far, Smriti Mandhana has scored 589 runs @24.54/127.76 with the help of three 50-plus scores.

#3. Renuka Singh Thakur

The new ball sensation will be tasked with providing breakthroughs to her side with her brilliant swing bowling during the powerplay. In 22 innings, she has taken 13 wickets at an average of 42.76 and an economy rate of 8.09.
