NXT or Tuesday Night NXT is a developmental brand of WWE. It was introduced in February 2010, and since then has undergone various modifications. From a television contest to the hub for some of the greatest talents, NXT has surely come a long way. While it is still considered to be a developmental brand or the third brand, its roster is easily comparable to that of RAW, SmackDown, and AEW. Before NXT, WWE had two different shows, namely FCW and ECW. While the former was a developmental territory, the latter was the third show after RAW and SmackDown. Soon, NXT replaced both the shows. During NXT’s run, WWE also introduced NXT UK and 205 Live which are both now defunct.
At present, WWE runs the NXT Level Up, a sixty-minute programming where superstars from NXT wrestle weekly. Like RAW and SmackDown, NXT has a dedicated roster. Whether or not there is a brand extension in effect, the roster of NXT continues as is. The wrestlers of NXT do take part in the draft but only to be sent to the main roster. Superstars rarely are drafted from RAW or SmackDown to NXT. Nonetheless, NXT has proved itself to be a goldmine for talented wrestlers. Not only does it hire great wrestlers, but it hones their skills and try to make them best in their fields.
