Cleveland Cavaliers Depth Chart 2023-24
The 2016 NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers are gearing up for a promising 2023-24 NBA season with an amazing depth chart. As another dark horse contender in the Eastern Conference, the Cavaliers are led by superstar Donovan Mitchell, whose acquisition last season injected new energy into the team and new hope for the fans. Despite faltering in the playoffs last season, the Cavaliers are determined to make a strong run in the 2024 playoffs.
At shooting guard, the Cavaliers rely on the presence of Donovon “Spida” Mitchell, who is a dominant force on offense capable of scoring against any defender in the league. Mitchell is crafty with his ball-handling and has the ability to attack the rim or pull up for tough jumpers. “Spida” Mitchell serves as the main enforcer of the Cavaliers depth chart. Assisting in the back-court is Darius Garland, a fast-paced, one-time All-Star point guard, who is known for his ball-handling, scoring prowess and playmaking ability.
In the frontcourt, the Cavaliers have a formidable twin tower duo of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, both of whom are seven footers and lethal two-way players. Defensively, Allen and Mobley excel as shot blockers and rebounders, while on offense, they provide different threats.
Allen is a dominant force in the paint, adept at finishing lobs and executing post-up plays, while Mobley has the ability to score inside as well as knocking down jump shots from the perimeter. Complementing them is newly acquired wing Max Strus, who will be a vital glue guy for the team, a key 3-and-D piece at small forward.
Off the bench, the Cavaliers' depth chart features a mix of defensive prowess and offensive firepower. Isaac Okoro provides defensive tenacity at the shooting guard position, while Caris LeVert adds scoring punch with his offensive skills. Youngster Sam Merrill offers solid contributions as a 3-point shooter and defender, providing depth to the backcourt rotation. In the frontcourt, Dean Wade and George Niang are stretch-four players who can knock 3-pointers and defend, while veterans Marcus Morris Sr. and Tristan Thompson offer leadership and experience in the locker room.
Under the guidance of the coaching staff, the Cavaliers depth chart can do wonders in the 2023-24 NBA season.
