South African cricketer Quinton de Kock is an international cricketer who plays all formats of the game for South Africa and also features for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. He is a left-handed batter who was born on December 17, 1992. He is renowned for his explosive opening batting. De Kock debuted for his country in 2012 and has scored many centuries, including three in his first fifteen Test matches. He is a skilled wicketkeeper as well.
De Kock had previously retired from Test cricket, and his final ODI appearance came against Australia in the World Cup 2023 semifinals. Following the 2023 World Cup, Quinton de Kock declared his retirement from the ODI format, as per the reports by ESPN Cricinfo.

Quinton De Kock made his IPL debut in 2013 while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He played just one season for the SRH and was picked by the Delhi Daredevils in 2014. He played for Delhi for four seasons before joining RCB in 2018. Playing with RCB for just one season again, he was acquired by the Mumbai Indians in 2019. After three amazing seasons for MI, he was traded to the LSG in the 2022 Mega Auction. He has been an integral part of the team since then.

Quinton De Kock IPL Auction Price
De Kock was purchased for INR 3.50 by Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in IPL 2014 a year after he showed underwhelming performance for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The South African wicketkeeper-batter went to RCB in the 2018 mega auction and the next year he was traded to Mumbai Indians.
He was released by MI ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction after the player spent three seasons with the franchise. De Kock fetched INR 6.75 crore in the 2022 IPL auction as Lucknow Super Giants acquired his services.

When the Lucknow Super Giants faced the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022, KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock made 210 runs stand, which was the highest opening partnership in Indian Premier League history. De Kock scored 140* in that inning. It was the first time an opening pair batted the entire 20 overs in the IPL without losing a wicket.
